My story is probaby very similar to many on here. I have had a weight problem since I was around 11. I am 46 now and things have really gone downhill in the last 3 years as far as weight goes. I have been working for approx. the last 8-9 months to get my surgery approved by my insurance. They had a 6 month waiting period where I had to go to the doctor every month. I have now been approved and the surgery is scheduled.

I had to sign the consent forms last week and they made me very nervous. I am sure most of the complications are the same with any surgery, but WOW, is it hard to read about.

I do think the risks with not having the surgery are worse for me though.

Any support that I can get will make me feel better I am sure.
