I was banded 2/26. Lost 25 lbs in first three weeks.. No loss since. First fill was 4-10. She say 3.5 cc in my 10 cc band..I can eat as much as I want, I don't have to chew well. Everything goes down. Never a stuck episode since right after surgery.. Is it possible the fill did not go into the band? It's wasn't under fluoroscopy.. I am exercising more than I ever have in my life. I feel like I am on a diet. I am really frustrated!

Thanks everyone for your comments, at least I know I'm not alone in the struggle... I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. After my whining the scale moved 3 lbs this morning.

Have a question , is it normal to not be losing weight before you get a fill.. I'm doing everything I was told.. I can see inches, I've lose 25 lbs but it's of that was within the liquid stage, every since I been on solids I have not had any loss.. So I'm just wondering is that normal..again I'm doing everything my doctor suggested.. I just want to know did other go thru this before a fill. Thanks

My surgery was 2/26 same as you. I'm down about 20 lbs. the scale has stopped moving this week. I plan to start with a trainer next week. Actually I go to f/u appointment today. I guess I'll get my fill date today.. I am surviving off protein shake and then Tuna lunch and dinner. Snacks are apple sauce, sugar free pudding. Not getting water in which I know is a big problem.. I'm really going to make a conscience effort with that.. Keep me posted on your journey.

Well I had surgery last Wednesday, I planned on going back today. I wasn't quite up to it, it's more tht hernia repair then then the band. I had my doctor send a note releasing me for tomorrow. So we'll see how that goes. I have a sit down job as well. Hope all goes well for you.

I'm fours days post op and I'm having bad esophagus contractions or spasms even when I swallow my own saliva or burp.. They are painful. Is this normal. I never had reflux or gerd so I am not sure what this is.. They said they didn't put any fluid in my band but I swear I restriction with clear liquids going down. Please respond with anything you think will help.. I'm starting to go into spazz out mode.

Called surgeon his first question was did you have hernia repair.. I said yes , he said that the repair was the cause of the spasms. It can even happen when you take a deep breaths is what he said.. It only last for a few seconds.. As far as restriction he said ull have restriction until swelling goes down.. At any rate it felt good to be reassured by the surgeon. Thanks for the push.

I was banded on yesterday.. Honestly I haven't had a whole lot of discomfort as of yet.. I was instructed to walk every hour for 10 minutes.. My husband set alarms. He has been my doctor at home.. I used the heating pad on my shoulder , a lil pain there.. I'm not sure if the fact that I am taking the pain pill every four hours on time is why I'm not really feeling the gas pain that others talk about.. It's like I'm waiting for it. I ended up having a hernia repair also... So far so good so good looking forward to the next phases.

Did any of you have blood to come thorough any of your dressing. I'm just a little concerned, it's on my port dressing.

Just got a call they my surgery is next Friday. I preop Friday. Start diet today. High protein, no carbs... Geez I didn't think it would happen like that. I have been approved since January.. I was completing my surgeon requirements... It's just odd how I see a lot of people do all liquids and my surgeon doesn't require that. In addition I'll only be doing one week and a 1/2 high protein diet... How can the fat around my liver go do quickly... Feeling excited abs anxious !!!!!!

Thanks, I guess every surgeon has their protocol... I had to have so many test I'm sure if I needed to wait he would definitely make me. They would even schedule me without a sleep study and I had no symptoms... So I'm sure it will be fine.. I'm happy but now I have to scramble to get everything I need... Not to even mention the short notice for my job and the fact I'm not telling them JACK!!! So I'll have to get creative with that... Whoosah!!!!

Wow!! I thought it was just me. I went in for my consultation . I was filling out paperwork and out the blue this lady as me what surgery I was getting. I said the band.. She said how were you able to get that. They won't do it on me... (Blank stare) I was really throwed off!!! She just kept talking and u kept ignoring.. People have a lot of nerve. If I invite the conversation that is one thing!!! Geez..!! Im approved but have sleep study and pulmonary function left.. The sleep study has been crazy getting approved... Hopefully March surgery date. Fingers crossed !

You look great, the goals you have met are ones I want to achieve.. I have a question.. Did you have problems with skin?

Interesting as I was just having a conversation that I'm going to stop telling people that's I'm going to gave surgery.. The responses have been , why are you doing that? My brother said just push away from the table. Very hurtful!!! It's a very personal decision and I thought everyone would be happy for me.. I found it opposite with some family and friends.. So in the end it's m health and life.

I had been thinking about wls a while. My brother had bypass, my sister has the band. This is happening so fast.. My first appointment was 1/6/14 and I already had 3 months supervision.. I finally got insurance that would cover it through my husbands job.. It was excluded with my company.. I work with insurance so I knew the requirements and had already prepared for the 1/1/14 effective date with Cigna. I was approved 1/24/14. The confusion I have now is did I chose the correct procedure .. Band vs sleeve.. The doctor was really pushing the sleeve, but I was totally against it. Now I'm just having 2nd thoughts. Anything u can offer on the difference would be appreciated.

Thanks guys, I really had my mind made up in the band.. Icy, you sound like my kind of girl! I think I knew the Ansa to my own question .. I don't want anything internal changed.. I guess I was just questioning myself. I have two more things to do for the doctor.. Sleep study and pulmonary function. Then I can be scheduled. I just never thought it would happen so quickly..the insurance company approved me in 5 days flat! Go Cigna! Thanks everyone, this forum is very helpful..

Thank you for your words, the band slips that I am reading about is what has me concerned. Why does that happen? I know throwing up to much is what my doctor said..is is from over eating?
