My name is Tonya and I am 33 years old. I grew up in Boise,Idaho but have lived here in Arkansas since 2006. I found out about Bariatric Pal from my sister who had the Gastric Sleeve done one year ago. I started the steps required by my insurance to get the Gastric Sleeve done back in Feburary 2013. I was just sleeved on 2-06-14. I spent 2 nights in the hosiptal and was soo ready to get home. I chose surgery since I couldn't get the weight off by myself. I had lost 50 lbs. back in 2010 with Adipex, eating right and working out just to gain it back plus more when I stopped taking the diet pills. I am at the biggest I have ever been and have never felt so disgusted with myself. I am raising four children, happily married, finished college and I guess somewhere in all the chaos I lost myself and my confidence. I had put on dang near 100 pounds:(.
The bad parts: were the trapped gas and nausea I experienced after surgery. Also the soreness especially in my incision area where my stomach was pulled through. I didn't really have too many negatives.
The good parts: I have a tool now that is going to help me get this weight off with hard work on my part of exercising and eating healthy and maintaining it! I feel better and am so excited to get myself back.
I enjoy the forums on here and how everyone is open and honest. I am a very blunt and happy person. I hope to make some friends during this journey who can relate.
Thanks,
God Bless-Tonya W.
