I'm now six weeks post op and for some reason have developed a nasty case of heart burn.. Have not changed my diet for the past 3 weeks,,, Anyone else out there dealing with this?

So today I hit the big 40... That is I have lost 40lbs.. I'm now 5 weeks out, and for the first time in 30 years, off all blood pressure meds and feeling great.. Walk, Drink, Pee but most of all pray.. it's all about prayer...

Went for my two week visit.. Down 33 lbs, can now have puréed meat and cottage cheese but most of all for the first time in 34 years I no longer have to take blood pressure meds... Today is a good day...

I was able to go home the following day and with Gods many blessings I doing pretty well. Other then the teaching nurse at the hospital stay was great. I still have some cramping but a sip of water makes it go away.. I have a drain tube in until the 9th, the area around the inlet is a bit tender. They want me to at least 60 grams of protein in per day, in liquid form. the best i can do is 54... I think once I find the right combo of powder, and pre mixed I be able to it 60 with put issue.. Today is big day.. my granddaughter turns 6, instead of cake I'm going to try Jello.

Well.. Here. It guys.. The day we've been waiting for.. In less then 12 hours some of us will begin our journey. Good luck and many blessing to all..

Just had my pre op.. Everything is a go for April 1... Getting pretty excited..

Had my pre op this week.. How cool is it the they call in all post meds early. Pain, nausea, gas..... They gave me something for everything... Counting down to April 1...

I'm scheduled for April 1st as well.... He has a great group working for him, excellent office staff.. The dietitians the best.....

My 5 year old granddaughter and I were watching TV last night, With her head in my schoulder she whispered in my ear "mommy says your belly is broken and you have to get fixed" That's right, I responded, the doctor is going to fix my belly.. Is it going to hurt? "I don't think so" Will it look different? "Hopefully a little smaller" I said.... You could hear the the concern in her voice when she asked "but papa! where will I sit?"" Got to love the perception of a 5 year old....

Just got the call... April 1, No Fooling... Can not think of a better way to spend spring break.....

Different insurance have different requirements. With mine I made an inquiry in the morning, and ahead an answer that afternoon. A friend of mine had to wait two weeks..

One more step closer.. I met with my primary doctor one more time to for a physical and review my stress teat.. all systems are go.... I am ready! Again, thank you all for sharing your experience, knowing what to expect form real people who have been down this road makes this journey much easier.

First of of all I just have to say you all are awesome.. I've been monitoring this site for quite awhile and to those of you who have opened your hearts and shared your story.. I thank you... In my book you are all heros... (or maybe losers?) I went down the lap band road back in 2006, and have felt like a failure for quite some time.. You all heard the story before "did very well in the beginning days but slowly slipped back into old habits".. About a month ago my primary doctor suggested looking into another option and meet with with a Dr. friend of his who specializes in bariatrics. As I met with the bariatric group I began to understand that there maybe hope after all.. After much research I decided the gastric sleeve be be my best bet.. It became clear after my first visit that the reason for my feelings of failure was due impart to the world in-which I work. As a research engineer I need to understand my challenge so I can control the outcome. In this case I could not control the outcome......by myself..... I realize now that if I'm going make this work I will need the help and the support of others. Now this where you guys come in... Fallenangel2904, Jenny12 and Missmac you along with hundreds of other have shared, coached and gavin folks like me the support and reassurance to continue this journey and to know that there is hope... For this I thank you?.. Today I went for a stress test which means about 3 weeks until the big day.. As the date is set and the time grows near I'll be looking to you for continued support and prayers. Many blessings.. And thank you..

Know what you mean... Just got cleared by my primary doctor today.. No date yet but I am ready...

Wow.. Quitting smoking was about the hardest thing ever... But one thing for sure is that everyday it gets easier. For me the urge only last for about a minute.. Good luck....
