April 16th role call - who's with me!
ejjohn replied to Bluesea71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Here are my numbers.. April 14, 2014 - Weight 251 lbs. Surgery Day August 26, 2014 - Weight 204 Total Loss - 47 lbs Shirt Size Pre-Surgery- XXXL Shirt Size Aug 26, 2014- XL (Maybe a Med. if i stretch it out HAHA!) When I look at everyone elses number it makes me sad. I'm happy for everyone else. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can you all help me? Shortly after surgery I got put on a Protein goal of 120grams a day. (my prealbumin was low) It kills me to get that much in. My doctor really wants me to just drink the Protein drinks - I do 2 a day but double up on the protein. I usually hit around 1000 cal a day ( mostly because of the protein shakes) I'm currently not exercising because of an injury - Could that me my problem? What are you all doing that I'm not? Or not doing that I am? REVEAL YOUR SECRETS!!! -
Coming home to an empty house after surgery...
ejjohn replied to Beth Pets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll be fine. They want you to be up and around to keep from getting blood clots. By that weekend I had run to the store and the mall. You'll just be weak so don't go too hard. Make sure you have water. -

Chewable vs gummy vitamins
ejjohn replied to Texas Moon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said no gummies too, but the Bariatric Advantage chewables i could not keep down. I took gummies until I got to where I could take capsules. He was not happy. Bariatric advantage has capsules that don't make me instantly barf. I still get a little nauseated but at least it doesn't come back up. I take those now -
Don't get me wrong, I am super happy for all those that lose weight quickly. YEAH!! I just wish i was on that wagon. Hey - I had someone cut out 3/4 of my stomach. You think that fat would run!!

I'm so glad everyone is doing so well... my SW 251 CW 220 31 lbs seemed OK until I saw other people getting to 53!! WOW !!

hang in there re14768!! The surgery has to work. The math is there. Calories in - calories out = weight loss !!!

I am right there with you. Sleeved April 14th and thought the fat would just fly off my bones. Weighed 251 the day of surgery and 223 today. I am pretty strick with myself. 800-1000 caloried a day. 1 Protein shake for Breakfast - cottage cheese for lunch and grilled chicken and veges for dinner. I usually have low fat cheese as a snack in the evening. I also like cucumbers for some reason. I wish they could really figure out what causes some people to lose quickly and some to lose slowly. I also have hypothyroidism and take .2mcg replacement a day. I'm sure that doesn't help.
