I was sleeved on the 20th so almost a week out, and I'm having hard time sleeping because my skin feels crawly...anyone else have this and what helps?
-
Of course like most, I'm getting nervous but excited. I've struggled on my liquid diet, so makes me nervous about after the surgery. I don't have doubts, but just scared of failure. On top of it all, I broke my foot 2 months ago, and I'm still in an aircast, and prob will be for another month or so . I didn't want to reschedule my surgery until my foot healed, but i do worry it will hinder my progress. I am excited about the future, its just the unknown. I have loved coming to these boards to read about others journeys, it has been so helpful. I am giving God all the glory in the start of my journey and will continue to praise him as I go through this...well that's my current story.

I am going through same thing, my surgery is scheduled for the 20th also. I start my pre OP diet on Sunday, and I have been having last meals all week (Chinese for lunch today). ,I try not to feel guilty, maybe wrong, but I too know that starting Sunday my life is going to change for the better! I have a plan, a goal and determination, but I also know it won't be easy. So I guess many go through what you/I are experiencing, and to see this helps me a ton! -
I have to do all that next week, plus I did an upper GI today

Any type 2 diabetics who are insulin dependant out there?
Kelsmurf replied to Lisa00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a type 2 insulin diabetic, I was not told to come off my insulin. I start my pre OP diet on Sunday and was given a diabetic pre OP diet that actually includes liquids with sugar. I was told to watch my sugars closely and adjust my insulin accordingly. My surgeon did tell me I may be able to leave the hospital never needing insulin again, which would be the biggest blessing I could get! However if nothing else should be greatly reduced! -
Wow...I was told 3 nights...My surgery is scheduled for a Thursday, was told I would go home on Sunday...

Thank you Cupcake for the suggestion, I chose the sleeve because of the malabsorption issue with the bypass, and also because of the less likely of dumping happening (sorry if tmi) and i already know what that is like all the research I have done shows a greater than 85% chance of remission with type 2 diabetes, and at this point I have 0% chance. I have loved this site too, I called my insurance and they have till Thursday to review it...ugh just ready to get approval and date scheduled...good luck to you too!!!! -

This is my first post, I have been stalking the site for about a month now I have SO SO many questions that I don't even know where to begin. I think my biggest fear is gaining the weight back, "stretching" the sleeve and it be a failure. I'm 38 with several issues including type 2 diabetes, and I'm doing this to hopefully put it into remission....advice or encouragement is needed and truly welcomed...blessings to everyone!
