Skinnyjeans turn for a flat tummy

Skinnyjeans: Thanks for the compliments. About Thanksgiving......I hope you're not doing the cooking. That will surely be too much for you at this point. Remember, baby yourself now, better results later. Take care. Sue

    Back on track

Hi: I am jealous because you live in FL. I live in MA and it's cold and there are lots of hills and leaves on the ground. I love to trikke but cannot again until the Spring because of this weather. I started trikking when I was 48 years old. It's alot of fun and it's low impact. I know there are alot of trikkers in Florida. In August I did a 24 mile ride. Check it out if you're looking for an exercise that is fun and it can become a healthy addiction. Here's a link to the trikke website I like. www.trikketalk.com Let me know if you end up trying it. Best wishes to you with your weight loss. Sue
  4. Hi: Simple is best. Why not "I'm having my tummy fixed so that I can be more healthy." Best wishes to you. I love my band and my new flat tummy. Sue

Will your Fat Jeans be your LEGGacy??

I saved a pair of my old 26/28 jeans. I can fit into one leg of them. I get a kick out of looking at them. Sue

Where do you go for your fills?

Hi: The follow up fills and support is forever, the surgery is for a day. You may want to reconsider your surgeon if he/she doesn't do fills. He/she may be in it "just for the money" if they're not interested in doing the fills and follow up. It may be difficult to find a doctor to follow up on a different surgeon's surgery. Best wishes to you. Sue

Stop asking me how much weight I've lost!

Hi: I got uncomfortable with saying how big the loss was too, because it was like saying "I got to be the size of a cow." One way to respond is "I'm not sure how much I've lost, but I've still got more to lose to become the average-sized amazing woman that I am on the inside on the outside". Best wishes to you with your lapband journey. Sue
  9. Hi: I haven't heard anyone else complain about so much pain in their throat and neck. You should probably call your surgeon to make sure things are okay. Hope you feel better soon. Sue

    Stoma size -- very interesting

Hi: My doctor said that when at good restriction the size of the opening is a little bigger than an M&M. Most of us can relate to the size of an M&M:blushing:. I try to think of that when I'm cutting my food. Sue

If you feel a sneeze or a good laugh coming hug a pillow to your abdomen and hold it there until after the sneeze or laugh. Sneezing and laughing were painful for the first couple of weeks. Take care. Sue

    Mid-Band Question

Here's a link to someone who was looking for a Mid Band fill doctor in Boston area. You should probably send a message to this person to see if they can tell you the answer to your question. I did some googling and I couldn't figure it out. LAP-BAND I hope that your doctor in Mexico responds. Did you try looking at their website for the answer? Just a thought. I hope you figure it out and get to the sweet spot soon. Take care. Sue

    BC/BS Massachusetts

Hi Haily: I am from MA too. I had a much higher bmi than yours when I first started. I looked at your profile and noticed that you are going to Dr. Glasgow. I've been going to the Glasgows since 2007. If there's a way to make it happen they will. Jayne (insurance coordinator and wonder woman!) knows all of the ins and outs of the insurances. I'm sure she'll work with Dr. Glasgow and do all they can to make it happen for you. They are terrific over there:thumbup:. Maybe I'll see you at one of their support group meetings. I'll have positive thoughts for you. Take care. Sue

Skinnyjeans turn for a flat tummy

Hi Skinny: Be careful not to do too much. Three hours of shopping may set you back a bit or increase your swelling over the next few days. Funny what you said about the pulling being in the groin area. That's where I would get the worst sharp pains. It was impossible to sleep on my side because the pain would come right away if I did. Unfortunately that's where my body goes when I'm asleep. The pain would randomly hit there when I wasn't doing anything too. Sounds like you're well on your way to recovery. It's nice to have the drains out. It makes showering and getting dressed so much easier. Get some rest and relax. Take care. Sue

second fill clogs and bogs :-(

Hi: My doctor has us on liquids first 24 hours, then mushies next 24 hours, and then solids after 48 hours. Maybe you should be on mushies still. Our bands are very tricky and I think sometimes there's swelling right after a fill. I hope you feel better soon. Don't forget, if you cannot get liquids to stay down you should call your doctor right away. Take care. Sue
  17. Please call your band surgeon. He'll probably want to see you to give you an unfill. I hope you feel better soon. Sue
  18. Wow! What a great start. Keep up the good work. Sue

    It's Allie's turn for plastics!

Danny - Thanks for the update. Please tell her that her LapBand Talk friends are sending good healing wishes her way. Sue
  20. Josie: Thanks for asking. I went last month and had a check-up. She's pleased with the results and the scar looks light pink and fading more and more. I do have a small dog-ear on one side. She wants me to give it three more months to see if it corrects itself or not and if not she'll fix with a minor procedure in the office. Now I'm focused on trying to find a new job. I got laid off in April and it's a b**&h trying to find a new job. If I get a job at the level I was before I'll be saving up to get the girls done. It's not likely, but I can dream. Unfortunately with the boredom and stress of trying to find a new job I've been grazing. I have now gained 20 pounds since my plastic surgery. I talked to my band surgeon about it this week and I asked if I can come in for weekly weigh-ins until I get a job and get my eating back under control. He's so nice. He gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him any time if I was struggling. When I went in to weigh in yesterday with his office staff I got the same feeling that an alcoholic must get when they go to AA meetings with a hangover. Embarassed, but facing my demons. I'm not changing my ticker because I am going to kick it back down very soon! I cannot wait to see your pics. Take care. Sue
  21. Josie: Glad to hear your six month check up went so well. Take care. Sue

Do you ever have band pain?

Hi: I had pain at my band site when I was too tight once. It actually hurt every time I swallowed - even liquids. The pain was deep inside behind my rib cage on the left side. I think that is where the band is placed. A slight unfill made the pain stop. I hope you feel better soon. Sue

    It's Allie's turn for plastics!

Allie: I'm jealous because you're going to have the abdomen and the boobs of a 20 year-old! You'll do great. Your positive thoughts will help through this. I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you tomorrow. Good surgery and good recovery to you! Take care. Sue
  24. Jessica: How lucky you are that you will only have one scar and it will be hidden in your belly button. As far as your incision goes, I think the things to worry about are if you are running a fever, if you are having any oozing from the area, and if the area feels hot to the touch. Please call your doctor if you are concerned about it. That's what they get the big bucks for:wink2:. I wish you well on your LAP-BAND® journey. I love my band and my new flat tummy. Sue
