    Light headed and dizzy?

Sounds like the same symptoms of low blood sugar. I've had this happen a couple of times. Please speak with your doctor again and maybe he/she can modify your pre-op diet slightly. Let us know how you're doing.
  3. Saw your youtube video. It was great and very inspirational. Congratulations on your weight loss success.

    WILL I EVER HAVE ENERGY!!!

Your energy level will get better but it may take a while if you're like me. Keep up with the protein shakes and take multi vitamins. With me I believe that part of the fatigue was caused by depression because I was mourning overeating. That went away as I saw success on the scale. Best wishes to you. Sue

    Tummy tucks and boob jobs

Hi Steph: I had a tummy tuck because after losing 150 pounds I had an apron of excess skin around my abdomen. As far as the boobs go they become somewhat deflated with all of the fat leaving them. Part of that may be an age issue as I'm 51 now. I think younger people have more resilience as far as their excess skin goes. Best wishes to you. Sue
  6. Hi: I got my tummy tuck when I was still 20 pounds overweight (according to bmi). I started at 324 got down to 174 and leveled out at 180 for about a year. My plastic surgeon wanted me to be at a stable weight for at least 6 months before plastic surgery to have the best healing results with my nutrition at a good level. I healed very well and am very happy with the results in spite of the fact that I'm about 10 pounds heavier now than I was in May 2009 when I got my tummy tuck. If I could just get focused I could lose that ten in a couple of weeks, but I guess I don't want it that bad. Best wishes to you. Sue
  7. I was banded by Dr. Adam Glasgow, son of Dr. Arthur Glasgow, but have seen Dr. Arthur Glasgow a few times when Dr. Adam Glasgow wasn't available. He is great! He's experienced, kind, gentle, and caring. Their office staff is great too! They genuinely care for their patients and their success with their LapBands. They provide a great support system for their band patients, both pre and post surgery. Their website is www.massweightloss.com. Check it out for more details. On a scale of 1 to 10, both of the Glasgows are 12's. I love my band! Sue

    Slipped Band?

Hi: They did a barium swallow and could see that some of my stomach came up over the band. Wouldn't slip back down again, so I had to have it fixed surgically. Sue

LOOKING FOR BANDERS IN THEIR 50'S!!!

Hi: I'm 51. I've been banded for 3 1/2 years. You'll be so glad that you did this for yourself. I feel 15 years younger and have the energy of someone in their 30's. Best wishes to you. Sue

    Slipped Band?

Kat - The doc tried the things that sometimes work to get your stomach to move back into position, that is he unfilled my band, and liquids only for I can't remember how long. That didn't work, so my band was replaced. I had the older small band (4.0 cc's maximum) and his practice stopped using them shortly after I got mine. They seem to cause more trouble than the newer bands. So, that's why they replaced my old band with a new one. If not for the older version, I think that I would have just had a repositioning surgery. Either way, same recovery and result. Take care. Sue
  11. Nettie: I asked before for a thread on plastic surgeon's, but I guess they didn't want to add one. You can check www.makemeheal.com and see what you can find out there. It's a site for people with plastic surgery. Good luck. I love my flat tummy! Sue

    Slipped Band?

Hi; I had a small slip and didn't have any pain or difficulty swallowing. In fact, I don't know when it happened. The way I found out was that I noticed that I was eating more and the scale started creaping up so I went in for a fill. Ended up totally unfilled and two months later got band replaced. Hope all ends up okay for you. I still love my bands - first band and second band. Sue

    Im getting too thin!!

Please call your surgeon's office and ask them if they can take out all of your Fluid. Tell them how much you weigh and how tall you are. You're very underweight for your height and you're probably suffering from malnutrition. Please call them today. They can probably put you on a payment plan. If your surgeon won't do it, go to the emergency room. Not sure where you are, but here in the US they have to treat you if you're ill in the emergency room. Tell them that you're dizzy and you think it's because you've lost too much weight with your band. Tell them that it is too tight and that you're unable to keep food down. Whatever works to get you an unfill. Hope you feel better soon. Wish I could give you 20 lbs. of mine. Please give us an update. I'll be worrying about you. Take care. Sue

    lap band hell

Hi: Just wanted to let anyone with nausea know that you should ask your doctor for a prescription for anti-nausea suppositories. It's called prochlorperazine - rectal, also known as compazine. When you're throwing up it's hard to keep the medicine down if you swallow it. Suppositories sound gross, but if you're throwing up or having dry heaves for a while because of nausea they're like a blessing. It stopped my nausea within a half hour last time I had to use it. Take care. Sue
  15. Back when I had my surgery they did surgery together. Adam was the surgeon and Arthur assisted. You will have a great surgeon and the follow up will be the best! Best wishes to you. Sue

    having silliva problems...help

I agree with the others, you're way too tight! Sorry to hear that you have to wait until Monday to see your doctor. I'm so fortunate because my doctor will come in or have someone on his staff come in when you have an issue with being too tight and it's the weekend. You'll feel much better once you see the doc. Our bands are very finicky and even just 1 cc can make all the difference in the world sometimes. Make sure you get enough liquid in so that you don't get dehydrated. As others have said, warm liquid sometimes goes down easier. Take care. Sue

    regrets

Hi - No regrets other than not getting it done sooner. First band 7/26/07, slipped in 2010, 2nd band 7/20/10. So, obviously I would do it again. Started at 324 and am around 190 now. Hope to get back to 175 to 180 in 2011, but even if I don't, I still feel so much better than I did at 324. Best wishes to you. Sue

    Internal Bleeding

Laura - You shouldn't wait until next week. Please call your primary care doctor today (or your LapBand Doc) and ask them for advice. They may direct you to the emergency room to be checked out. It could be something serious, so please don't delay. After initial healing our band should never cause pain or bleeding. Please let us know how you're doing. Sue

    Boobies question

If your experience is anything like mine they get less full because there won't be as much fatty tissue. At my age with more than a hundred pound loss that means that they're not as full on the top half of the breast. This will happen alot of places in your body as you lose the fat content in your tissue. Best wishes to you. Sue
  21. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! Best wishes to you. Sue

    Severe joint pain

Misty - can't imagine it's your band, but I'm not an MD. Please let us know what your doctor says. Hope you feel better soon. Perhaps it's something you're missing in your diet that's effecting your joints? Take care. Sue
  23. Katie - When "falling off the wagon" the best thing to do is to climb back on and don't look back. You've done well before you can do well again. Being off schedule doesn't help. Try to stick to your routine and it helps you to keep eating your routine foods which are most likely good choices. You can do it!

What is your favorite non carbonated beverage?

Gotta love Diet Peach Snapple! Wish it was less expensive, but it's worth the cost.
