I had the surgery at Evanston Hosp and Dr Woody Denham was my surgeon. I had BC/BS PPO and they paid for everything so far. He was great and I credit his staff with fighting the insurance company for me. I'm 2 months post op and all is well so far.

Pam, thanx for the renewed hope. I havent had my first fill yet and I'm nervous about it. Banded 7/26/07 and finding that some days are easier than others. Also finding that I dont feel full until it's too late and I have a stabbing pain under my left breast. Then I assume I have eaten too much. I'm on my way to spark people after I type this. what can I expect after my first fill?

I love farina. I have found that it really stays with you for at least 4 hours. I make it with milk so I get one of my dairy's in at the same time. 1 tsp of I cant believe it's not butter light and yumm.

Well said DBAguy. It helped me to read that. I was beginning to think I was the only one that did what the doctor asked of me. With the exception of a slight pain on my left side that wont seem to go away, I'm excited and looking forward to new experiences in life. I like your attitude!!

I was banded on July 26. Went back to work after 5 days. About the 2nd week my appetite came back. It's difficult to stay on the prescribed diet of 3 cups of food 3 x's a day and NO SNACKS. I'm hungry! I saw my nutritionist yesterday and she said I could have 1 6 oz.yogurt between meals. It's helping but I know it's time for a fill. My doctor wont do a fill before 6 weeks. Hang in there. Dont give up.

whoda thunk it. my doctor didnt give me any pictures so I'm assuming he didnt take any. I'd LOVE to see what this thing looks like in my body. perhaps it would give me a better understanding of things that I feel inside. (when swallowing etc) great idea. kudos to your doc!
