I have been researching weight loss surgery since 2011 when I finally made the decision that yo-yo dieting weren't working for me. Weight Watchers is great but after consulting with my Primary Care Doctor, we took into acount of the amount of medications I am taking along with family history of Diabetes and Heart disease and it became clear that it was time to take the plunge. I am 44 years old, female, 5'5.5, and currently weigh 220 pounds. I have researched every type of surgery, from reading articles to hours on You-Tube, and finally attending a clinic seminar for patients and their support team. My first choice wast the Gastric Sleeve, however due to my GERD my doctor suggested that the full gastric bypass would work better for my case. I have finished all of the testing except for a slleep apnea test and final clearance from the cardiologist which both should happen this weekend. fingers crossed and I should have a date set by Valentines day when I meet with my surgeon...pretty cool Valentines day gift!
