I am April 2nd as well. Lots of different feelings going on in my head. It feels a bit surreal at this point!

I would be shocked and amazed if I ever wore a size 10. I can't even envision that. I think I was probably 8 or 9 when I wore a 10!

I have the same fear. I really regret telling everyone about the surgery. I was just so excited to have it that i basically shouted from the roof tops! But now I'm thinking that wasn't such a great idea because now everyone is like "Oh you're going to be skinny!" Ugh. No, I will never be and actually don't strive to be 'skinny'. I want to be healthy. So I fear they have some grandiose plan for me and I won't live up to that. But, I really have to focus on my goals and not what others may want for me. So didn't mean to hijack your post, just wanted to show you that there are those who have the same fears as you. We're all in this together

Hi All, I've been on the boards for a bit now but I'll reintroduce myself here. My name is Tanya. 41 year old single mom to a 7 year old little girl who is my heart and soul. I live in Quebec, Canada. I've having my surgery at the Laval Hospital in Quebec City on April 2nd. I'm so excited and anxious, I can barely think of anything else but this surgery!!!! Hope to make some friends in here who will be riding the same wave as I am.

Awesome! A sleeve buddy I actually have no liquid diet required by my surgeon but I am going to do one on my own for 7 days prior.

I am officially an April sleever. I was scheduled originally for March 31st but the office just called and said they needed to postpone it so April 2nd it is. Drags on my countdown a bit but I've waited years, I don't think 2 more days will kill me.

I'm having my surgery on the 31st but one of my friends just had her surgery Thursday by the same doctor. She sent me a pic of her meal in the hospital from today (2 days post op) and they have her on puréed food. She had carrots, potatoes and an egg. Isn't that a bit soon?? I'm concerned after all the research I've done. Anyone experience this?

Thanks all. I'm a bit less concerned seeing others who were on pureed when they left the hospital. She sent me a pic of her meal yesterday and there was a piece of braised beef there. I thought that was again, too soon. I will follow the surgeon's orders for sure but I just wish the practices of the surgeons for this surgery were a bit more standardized across the board. 14 days left!!

My surgeon does not require any pre-op diet either. I think it would be a great idea none the less because of liver shrinking. I think I will start substituting some meals with Protein shakes so I can get used to it. 18 days to go!

The standard for my center is 4 days

My surgeon says 8-12 weeks because I travel a lot on business so he wants to ensure my eating habits can adjust.

I would love for these to be my after pics! Your body is awesome. But it's how you feel in it that counts!

Got the call today. Pretty exciting stuff. Anyone else getting sleeved on the same day?

I'm still pre-op. Yesterday I started getting a sharp pain in my abdomen. It got worse as the night went on. I didn't have diarrhea or vomiting although a couple of times I felt like I could have thrown up. The pain in still there. Not as bad. I'm scared to eat. I googled the symptoms and it keeps bringing up gallbladder attack. Anyone experience one?

Thanks for your replies. My pain doesn't seem similar. I'm going to urgent care to have it looked at.

Omg. That's so scary for me. My hair is so thin as it is! I would be bald after a few episodes of that

My biggest fear is obviously not waking up from the surgery (single mom of a 7 year old). Second fear is not being able to make the mental change as quickly as I make the physical one. I know this surgery will work if i make it work. I just hope I can do that. I have failed at every other attempt to lose weight.

Ok so i am encouraged by your pics, you lost a lot of weight and although you have excess skin, your body looks a hell of a lot better than mine does pre-op so if i can look like that post op, i won't be so sad.
