I'm 52 years old, have been morbidly obese for 30+ years, have tried everything in the world on my own and still have only lost about 30 pounds in past 2 years. I have out of control diabetes despite taking 3 medications and have other comorbidity factors as well. I watched both my folks die from Diabetic issues and have an older sister who is now living out that struggle. I am more afraid of the diabetes than I am of surgery and so here I am. I've met with my surgeon who also has performed GB on my other sister and Lap Band on my niece. I got my date set for March 7th 2014. 7 days before my 53rd birthday...Here's to NEW BEGINNINGS!
