Thanks for the shout out! Still has not really sunk in that my weight starts with a one! So surreal! Aug. 20th is my 6 month sleeveiversary. HW was 280 Surgery was 2/20 never remember my weight day of... I have been stepping on scale just to make sure it still says under 200. Wish I felt more accomplished but I think I am shock, afraid it is not real.

Monday I weighed 200.5 I weighed myself Tuesday....199.5 I thought I'd feel more, of anything! I think this is going to take some getting used to. I have not been in the 100's in over 15 years! Can't celebrate by pigging out. Don't want to spend money on clothes yet. Need to learn how to enjoy this new body!

BlondeBanshee replied to I will what I want's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 52 and I did not feel normal till 5 months out. Made me nervous, but it finally happened! -
Confession- I did not post on Monday because I did not lose, Monday I weighed 204, today, Thursday, I weighed 201.5!!!! The anxiety of breaking out of the 200's is so stressful! I have a weekend of birthday parties so I am afraid I won't get there next weigh in! This is such a biggie for me! And it is so darn close!

Tell them you have severe sleep apnea that seems to get people approved. I went to Mexico so I did not have the insurance hassle.

Dr. Quinones opinions wanted
BlondeBanshee replied to amychar's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had surgery with Dr. Q 2/20/2014. I went with two friends, one was a lap band to sleeve conversion. We all have had little to no problems. I did not feel good and was kept at clinic an extra night, I could not get rid of gas pains. They kept me to make sure I was hydrated and on extra pain meds. My friend with the conversion was a little nauseous. The extra night I spent at clinic the girls (2post op and 2 caregivers) left the hotel and walked and shopped!!!! Crazy bitches! Anyway, I felt well looked after and feel like this was the best decision I ever made for my health! I do not hesitate to refer you to Dr. Q!!! -
Monday weigh in 209.5...please let me stay under 210, I keep going up and down. I am full of anticipation of breaking the 200's, it has been over 15 years since I was under 200. So damn close!

Well...212, I was so sure I'd reach 210, still, very happy to be at 212! Next goal is having that first be a 1!!! Thanks Bea, for everything, I have enjoyed these challenges! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

Bypass or Sleeve. Times running out
BlondeBanshee replied to Tubby1234's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I choose the sleeve because I did not want to deal with malnutrition and dehydration issues, I think the success rate for sleeve is pretty high and most importantly my digestive system is intact! I started at 280 surgery was 2/20/14, today I weigh 211. I hope to get down to 155, I am 5'10". I just felt safer with the sleeve, best thing I have ever done for myself!!! -
Mad at myself for slipping
BlondeBanshee replied to acampbell1318's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have done the same thing, and I do throw up. I get so mad at myself for not eating soon enough and that old habit of stuffing myself kicks in, next thing is throwing it all back up! Luckily, I am getting better at monitoring myself and it happens infrequently. There is a learning curve to this, just learn and move on. Honor Your Sleeve! -
I'm still pre-op BUT need insight and encouragement
BlondeBanshee replied to Angi~2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too was plagued with fears and doubt! I was sleeved 2/20 at 280 and today I weighed 212.5. What a difference! I want to weigh less but the truth is, if this is as good as it gets its a huge improvement! I have no doubt that I lose more and I am so grateful for this tool! I was so miserable and only getting worse! It is heart breaking that some suffer complications from being sleeved, don't ever take it for granted! Stay on the forums, I found it so comforting to see what everyone was going through! Good luck with your journey! -
You can't wait that long! Call them both and see about getting in sooner. The worsening of pain hopefully suggests something. Feel better!
-
You look 15 years younger! Congrats!

Sleep study Dr. David kim
BlondeBanshee replied to Chubtastic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went to Mexico $4300, that includes accommodations for myself and a companion. Easy, no hassle, safe! I was very well cared for! The risks from surgery are the same on both sides of the border, the headaches and hoops to jump thru are north of Mexico! I was diagnosed with sever sleep apnea years ago and the first thing the pulmonologist recommended was weight lose surgery! I was so insulted! Here I am, sleeved and down 70lbs in 4 months! Have not tried to giving up the CPAP yet, I'll wait another 30 lbs before I ask for another sleep study! Hope you have sleep apnea so your insurance can kick in! But if it doesn't, Mexico was great for me! -
