Will i ever be warm again?
Southjerzjoy replied to chicagirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 weeks out and I'm always cold. Wrapped in blankets by the fireplace. When I go to bed I have to put the heating pad by my feet. My fingers, toes and nose are like ice. -

Southjerzjoy replied to cdestrada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Starvation mode, stall & atrophy
Southjerzjoy replied to HumanMerelyBeing's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had myself convinced I was gonna be one of those up and about right after surgery. Not so much! My body had different ideas. I was a mess 3 days in the dark with a migraine so no walking around or even thinking of getting protein in. 2 weeks before I could sleep one 1 side but not the other. Then feeling about 80% this past Friday as far as pain (not food) I slipped on the ice and pulled so hard on my incisions that it felt like day 2 after surger all over again. SOB. I'm feeling about 75% now. Food is still not my friend cuz it makes me so uncomfortable. LIFESAVER: Egg White Protein Shakes by Jay Robb at Vitamin Shoppe or GNC. It's delish and not thick. After surger I couldn't do whey protein without pain. Give it a try. I actually look forward to it. Oh side note scale has not moved in over a week. -

Protein Shake Sickness
Southjerzjoy replied to LosingWeightLiz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After surgery my stomach really did not like Whey protein. I had to switch to an egg white protein I buy one by Jay Robb in vanilla and it's really tasty I like it most because it's not real thick but it still gives you all the protein that you need give it a try and comes in chocolate and strawberry too but I've only had the vanilla. Hope this helps -
What do you do when you can't turn to food anymore?
Southjerzjoy replied to JillC878's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so sorry you're so sad. Hugs. Whatever it is you're going through this too shall pass. In the meantime I don't how you feel about reading but I was like to escape into a good book or maybe stop at the drugstore and buy yourself some new nail polish and some nail stickers and do your nails. I truly believe the chocolate may make you feel better for a split second but the results from that chocolate will stick with you for a while not worth it. Make yourself some water with fresh fruit and put it in a cocktail glass. Maybe a squirt of MIO or Crystal light little juice thing that flavor your water. Turn your frown upside down and make yourself a little pretend happy hour. -
What type of foods and how much in one sitting can you eat 1 year after gastric sleeve surgery?
Southjerzjoy replied to sunny2day's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here. I wish I could just not eat at all but I hate clear protein drinks and I know I need it to heal. I may wish for this feeling one day. -
First of all Good for you girl! Your doing great. I'm a new loser but fear I will soon be dealing with some of the same issues you are having. I was thinking of looking into therapy for myself. I believe in outside opinions. Maybe support groups. These boards are great for helping us feal understood and not alone. I wish u the best and I am so proud of how brave you are to make this change. In no way is this "the easy way out".

I look forward to eating because I'm hungry and then I get like 3 bites in and I'm so uncomfortable. I wish I could just skip it and go on with my day but I need to get the protein in to heal its really making me miserable. It eases up after about a half an hour but then even getting liquids and after that feels yucky. Any suggestions? Oh and I was sleeved on January 27th.

At first was denied and felt hopeless. Imagine someone taking this gift away. It is scary I'm not gonna sugar coat that but for me growing more and more overweight was more scary. The food will still be there but a bite or 2 will fill u. It's only food. Look forward to something you want to do or be in your new life. I'm only just about 1 week out and feel like the same but improved me already.

Still can't drink
Southjerzjoy replied to Amanda Nicole Hosaflook's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept because of migraines for 2 days when I came home but I think my body was so full of fluid from IV it kept me safe. I did have a hard time to and found warm decaf tea really helped. Now I am day 5/6 and make myself hydrate. This is all new to us but this to shall pass. You will feel better once you can drink. Good luck to us both. -
Surgery 2 days ago & hungry?!?
Southjerzjoy replied to Coco1265's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery Monday and I can really only get down is warm liquids without a problem room temperature liquids like they hit my stomach like a bomb and don't even try for the cold except for Popsicles I had one today it wasn't bad. I think I'm supposed to start soft tomorrow like yogurt I can't even imagine the swallowing yogurt yet. I feel hungry but then I think about swallowing food and it goes away. -
Sorry it's taken me so long to update. But I thought I was tough this surgery kicked my butt. Mostly because I get migraines and I had one for 3 1/2 street days. It was so bad it woke me up from sleep. So this is the first day of been able to get onto the computer and tell you all thank you for your support but no one told me that it was going to be this bad. I know I know this too shall pass blah blah. I'm trying to stay positive but it really hurts. With that said I have absolutely NO REGRETS. I'm proud to be part of this group! Looking forward to skinny jeans and all the health benefits it has to bring me.
