    Ouch! Sounds like you drank too fast! I agree with everyone else - try walking around to help move things about. I hope you feel better soon!!
  2. April 14th here. I am up to anywhere between 55-75g of Protein a day. Besides a Protein shake once a day, I have a variety of other protein rich food items such as cottage cheese, greek yogurt, mozz cheese sticks, babybel cheese, egg whites, tuna, turkey and chicken. Also if I have any milk I add powdered milk to it to double the protein (my nutritionist calls it double milk). I still struggle with getting in enough fluids though. I tend to only get in about 30oz of Water and then about 20oz of other fluids - G2, diet Snapple, crystal light etc. My weight loss has been pretty good so far. I tend to lose a bunch of weight, and then nothing for 10-12 days. I'm down about 75lbs from surgery - so I'm pretty happy with that!

      I have found that with Quest bars near by, I make better choices but if I am out of them..my choices are not very good...little bites of homemade cheesecake here and there aren't good for me :( So hoping your day will be better.

    Special K protein shakes

    18g of sugar is way too much. My nutritionist recommends no more than 7g of sugar with anything that I consume. I drink EAS AdantEdge Carb Control shakes. 17g Protein. 100 calories. 2.5g fat. 0g sugar. 3g of carbs. The chocolate fudge is my favorite flavor. I buy mine in bulk from BJ's, but they do carry them at Target or WalMart so you can try the different flavors. Keep in mind 1 TEASPOON of sugar = 5 GRAMS. So 18 grams would be about 3.6 teaspoons of sugar.

    @@VSGAnn2014 - you will require different levels of carbs/protein and fat depending on where you are post surgery. Also your levels may be different depending on your activity level. Check with your surgeon or nutritionist for those guidelines. Best of luck to you!

      That doesn't sound crazy. Sounds like 55 minutes of cardio and 55 minutes of weights :) Tonight for me is Body Works plus abs.

  11. Got a good workout in at home today. 10 min Core, 15 min resistance bands, and 10 min zumba/dance. :)

      Nope! Not alone. Just wasn't going to make it to the gym. But 5:30am - I was in my living room dancing around! Ha!! (If only my husband would have come out to see my sweet moves... lol!!!)

      Ginger - we SO got this!! :) Yesterday morning was the elliptical followed by squats, lunges and planks. THEN after work went to a Zumba class! Wasn't sure about going this morning - but glad that I did!! I may take tomorrow morning off and go to a class tomorrow night. We'll see how I feel in the morning. lol. :)

  16. Try a heat pack or a warm towel and put it on the area that is hurting. That may help relieve some of the gas pain. If you haven't tried already - also take some Gas-X. If you are still in a lot of pain - contact your surgeon. Don't ever be afraid to call your doctor if you are in pain or if something doesn't feel right! Hope you get some relief soon!!

      We are SO on the same wavelength! Had the alarm set to get up and do a workout but had the volume on the phone turned down and I laid it on something soft so the vibration didn't work either. Guess it's an after work workout for me, too.

      I had a support group meeting last night that ran a bit late. Had to grab dinner afterwards & didn't get home until about 11. At that point - I would have had about 5 hours of sleep... so I knew the gym wasn't going to happen. lol. Hubby promised me he will come with me after work today. :)

  19. @@Shawna39 - at 3 weeks out - you should only be doing light cardio. Walking/treadmill/elliptical. No weights. No ab work. Your tiny tummy is still trying to heal. The incisions need time to heal. I wasn't allowed to lift anything over 10llbs until 8 weeks out. Please contact out surgeon and ask what your restrictions are and what you should and should not be doing. You could be causing injury if you are doing too much too soon.
  20. Jogged/Walked the Ronald McDonald House 5K last night! 51minutes (15 min/mile).

      Nah! No early gym today. I'm taking today off from the gym. Might go for a walk on my lunch break if the rain holds off. But i'll be back at it tomorrow morning! :) That's great you are training for a 5k. I plan on doing the Biggest Loser 5K in late August - going to try to work my way to jogging a decent part of it. Good luck with the trainer today!! :)

      Try one of the couch to 5K programs. I have hesitated forever on doing it saying "I'm not a runner..." Turns out when you're dropping weight, running is a lot easier! I'm doing the Zombies, Run 5K program and so far in the first week it's very doable. You walk 10 minutes, alternate 15 seconds of running with 1 minute walking 10 times, then walk/run however you'd like the last 10 minutes. Most people can shuffle-run along for 15 seconds. I'm looking forward to amping it up on next weeks missions.

      I'll have to look into that. I have thought about doing the couch to 5k but when I was close to 300lbs - just walking was a challenge at times. So now that I am down quite a bit - it may be a bit easier (maybe...lol). :) I did jog almost a quarter mile last night - TWICE! (did I feel like I was going to die after it - yes - but I kept moving with the rest of the race.

    16 Weeks Post Op

    Yeah!!! Congratulations on getting into those 16's! But don't get too comfy - you'll be shrinking out of those before you know it too! You are doing wonderfully and you look SO happy in your picture! Wishing you all the best! Keep up the great work!
  24. Sounds like you had a fantastic time on our cruise!! A well deserved cruise after all of your hard work! I'll be on a cruise for my 1 year surgiversary next April! I was a bit concerned about the food/buffets too but am sure that I will be mindful but still enjoy myself. Congrats again on your continued success! BTW - you look FANTASTIC in your picture!
