  1. It has taken me 6 months to have new pictures taken, but I finally did it. I have lost 27.5 inches in the last 6 months and 25 pounds. I know that it may seem dumb, but I am still having a hard time seeing any changes. That is one of the reasons I wanted to have the pictures done. I can see a slight difference, but I don't see as much as I would like. Anyway, the pictures are posted on my blog .... http://adventuresinlapbandland.blogspot.com/

    Curves? Yes or No?

I have been doing hot yoga for a while now, but I am looking to find some cardio/circuit training. I have been looking into Curves and I am hoping to get feedback from people on their experience. Also, please check out my blog. I use it as a tool to track my progress throughout the whole process. http://adventuresinlapbandland.blogspot.com/
  3. I have been having a lot of frustration because I haven't seen movement on the scale in the past few weeks. I have been going yoga consistently 3-4 times a week. I posted a couple of weeks ago and people suggested that I track all of my calories. I have been doing this for the last two weeks and I have FINALLY lost 3 pounds. The good news that I have now lost 17 1/2 inches. My "AH HA" moment.... I have finally realized that in order to reach my goal by the end of the year, I only need to lose 1.5 pounds a week. I have been expecting too much from the surgery. I knew when I got it that I would be a TOOL to lose weight and not a miracle cure. I have always been the type to want results "overnight" but I'm slowly realizing that it takes a lot of work and the scale will eventually catch up.

    Frustration Station!

Ok. I need some advice. I had my surgery on December 16, 2013. I have only lost 11 pounds with 10.2 of that being in the first month (when I couldn't eat solid food) and only .8 since. I have been getting very frustrated to say the least. I don't weigh myself every day, but I do weigh once a week. I have lost 14 inches so far which was helping me feel better about no weight loss, but over these past 2 weeks I have not lost any inches either. I got to two different types of yoga classes every week. I am currently going 3 times a week but I am going to start going 4 times a week. I make sure to drink my Water and I'm not eating very much. I am completely open to suggestions, recipes, or anything else you feel might help me!

    Frustration Station!

I understand what everyone is saying about muscle, but if that was the case then I would be losing inches. I started tracking my food today. I may ONLY weigh 188 pounds, but I am also ONLY 4' 10". My starting BMI was 42. I'm not "less overweight" because I'm under 200 pounds.

    Frustration Station!

I'm not keeping track. How much should I be getting daily? Now that you mention it, I think my nurse suggested to aim for 50 grams a day. Does that sound right?
  7. Last week, I made a post about my frustration with my weight loss (or lack thereof) and today I am still in the same boat. I only lost .4 pounds this week which is frustrating BUT I took my measurements today and I have lost 4 inches overall in the last 2 weeks. I attribute this to the hot yoga classes that I have been doing. It's a lot less frustrating seeing minimal weight loss on the scale when I know that I am losing fat but gaining muscle. 8. It's been approximately 1 1/2 months since my surgery. I know that it's early but I haven't lost any weight in the last week and a half. It's frustrating because I have been watching my diet and I started taking hot yoga classes. I take 90 minute classes 3 times a week. I'm going to take my measurements next week so hopefully I see some results there. If you have any suggestions or ideas that might help, let me know! 9. I had my first adjustment today. It went a lot quicker than I expected. I wasn't completely numbed when the nurse stuck the big needle in, but I was ok once she started adjusting the needle and my port to get it in. I am excited to see what this adjustment will do to my eating. I can't believe it's been 5 weeks since my surgery! My workout. Let me start out by saying that I HATE the heat, so it's crazy that I even went. I started going to Bikram yoga and I LOVE it. I am planning to go at least 3 times a week. I'm so glad I found something low impact that is still challenging and will give me a good workout. Check out my blog @ http://adventuresinlapbandland.blogspot.com/ I will be posting weekly weight updates and monthly measurements. I will also post anything fun or exciting that happens.
  10. Thank you! I hope to help many people with my journey and I'm happy to know at least one person looks at my blog
  11. Oh man! It's been 5 weeks...not years! I must have been very tired when I made that post!
  12. Hello there. My name is Ashlee. I had my Lap-Band surgery on December 16, 2013. I am officially one month post-op. I had my surgery in Utah. I went to Dr. Darrin Hansen (http://www.utahlapband.com/) and he is AMAZING. So far I have lost 10 pounds and 10 1/2 inches. I had a slight complication with my port incision. I have started a blog to document my journey. You can see the information about my incision problem there - http://adventuresinlapbandland.blogspot.com/
