THE MAGIC WORDS: "YOU'VE BEEN APPROVED!"
ferminadazavsg replied to blissfulbeing's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats to the beginning of a new life. -
Water Tea intake etc
ferminadazavsg replied to fluffy4now's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
At the beginning it is hard to get all your fluids, but a few months later, I notice I can drink normal cups of water just like anyone else. Just cannot mix water and eating. I tried that once out of habit and it was awful..you will throw up. -
Carbonated drinks?
ferminadazavsg replied to shannonblindsay's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Have not had soda in a year and it has not bothered me in the least. I did try a sip of diet soda to see the effect and it just made me feel gassy. I just lay off it since it has no nutritional value and I want my kids to avoid the addiction to soda pop. -
Happy Thanksgiving & before/after pics
ferminadazavsg replied to ferminadazavsg's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for all the positive energy. Believe it or not, some people will want you to fail and will criticize your decision. You will lose some friends along the way and gain new ones. Just stay positive and you will succeed...even if you mess up. -
Happy Thanksgiving & before/after pics
ferminadazavsg posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is my first thanksgiving since being sleeved last December and for the first time in the longest, I was not dreaming about all the food I was going to consume. First, I can't physically eat more than a few ounces...so I have to choose carefully. Second I have worked so hard this past year, I really think twice before I eat. Food is no longer my main mission. It is no longer my scapegoat when I feel depressed and it is not my safety blanket or my reward. Just want to wish everyone the best holiday and give you motivation to hang in there. I am still on my weightloss journey, but it feels so good to be healthier. My goals are more about fitness and not so much about the scale. Once you get closer to goal weight, the pounds don't just slide off.."you gotta work @;$$:!" Like the Britney spears song. So I encourage all of you to exercise and you will be successful. (Plus it helps with all the loose skin and jiggles ????) -
Ok I sent you a request, my real name is Ironelly.

My weight loss journey
ferminadazavsg replied to jezabeth's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I love myfitnesspal and have used it daily since I started the journey. I would personally keep the dogs around, you want to walk around and have people around you to support you. My recovery was pretty good. Just felt very nauseous the first few days and could not bend. Just focus on the protein and fluid intake at the beginning. You don't want to get dehydrated..and honestly at the beginning you have no desire to eat or drink anything. -

Love your blog..I started my journey getting sleeved Dec 2013. I discovered it gets harder to lose those last few pounds..I started at 310 lbs my goal was to lose 150 lbs and I am still working hard..but I am glad I lost 100 lbs and could not have done it without this surgery and my new mentality towards nutrition and health.

Back to bad habits ! HELP
ferminadazavsg replied to Jay15's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I also love cooking and found ways to tweak recipes so I could enjoy my favorite foods like zucchini crust pizza, turkey meatballs, grilled shrimp. I just roll my eyes when my family eat their burger king and keep with my plan, only 50 lbs more to lose. -
Back to bad habits ! HELP
ferminadazavsg replied to Jay15's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I too had really bad eating habits and craved everything sweet & unhealthy. But thanks to the forums And youtube I found ways to have my cake and eat it too. I ate quest protein bars, taste great and have loads of protein and few carbs. I found a great protein brownie recipe...find ways to enjoy your new lifestyle and don't give up. I track everything in myfitness pal and this keeps me accountable. Nine months out and lost total 100 lbs since I started the weight loss journey. My plan is to educate myself and I have learned a lot along the way. It is not always easy, but you can reward yourself and not feel deprived..it's the only way you will survive the long road ahead. I know you will beat the cookie monster or pasta monster inside your head.. -

Any type 2 diabetics who are insulin dependant out there?
ferminadazavsg replied to Lisa00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on insulin for a few weeks after the surgery, then eventually was taken off it completely...losing the weight and eating less, normalized my blood sugars to where I didn't need the insulin anymore. Im only 3 months post-op and have lost 54 pounds since surgery.
