Congrats..... and all the best to you!!! -
My doctors requires the "Sugar Buster" diet for 2-3 weeks before surgery. It is basically a 3 gram or less of sugar per serving diet. Lots of protien and veggies. You can have "some" fruit but not all and a serving a whole wheat bread each day. This is designed to shrink the liver so it is easier on him during the surgery. I am on day 9 of this diet and have shed 5 pounds. It was a little rough on day 1 and 2 but has gotten much, much better. Hope this helps.....

I was anxious too. But when I got there, my therapist was so easy to talk with and I instantaly relaxed. Try not to work yourself up too much and keep your eye on the end result. Even if it takes a while longer, the prize is a new tool to help improve your relationship with food and a better you. I am still playing the the waiting game and jumping through all the insurance hoops....unfortunetly that is what we have to do. Good Luck & all the best to you!!!!!!

I am a south georgia girl. PreOp and waiting....

Understand completely...... I am getting the same response from my best friend and she is overweight. She just does not understand why I cannot lose it without surgery. I am preop and only told my children, husband and her. And that is exactly why. Just keep your eye on the prize and concentrate on you and your health. You don't need anybody's approval:)

Started this journey in October of last year and had my last weigh in on Monday of this week. Started my sugar busters on Tuesday and now waiting to hear from my insurance company on an approval. Struggled a bit the first two days but feeling much better today. I am looking so forward to my new life and new relationship with food............ I know and realize this is a marathon and not a sprint!!!!!!!
