Believe me... It's worth it. I experience no complications like you, so I can't relate to you in that way BUT everyone can understand what emotional pull this causes and unfortunately that doesn't change much... Because u will have your good moments and your bad. I'm almost 6 months post op and I'm down 60 lbs exactly. You must learn to be patient as you will experience moments like " I've gained 2 lbs?! HOW?! Or " this isn't working! Everyone is loosing faster than me!! I went through ALL THIS and it's not working." But then next week u will lose 10 lbs like that. So yes, it does work. It would be impossible for it not to work.. Just physically impossible. Keep your head up. The beginning sucks so much... And we should all expect the worst going through this. Not once should we ever think this would be a pain free experience. Bc honestly, you get what you want with hard work. The people u read out there saying " I had no pain and no side effects I'm perfect blah blah shit" are lying. But, there is a bright side. As for me, the only thing I can't tolerate is TOO MUCH sweets and milk. I can still eat whatever I want and still lose the weight. Yes I'm sure if I worked out everyday and ate perfect I would probably be down way more than just 60 lbs... But no one is perfect and we will screw up. I still love food and I know that won't change. I'm so happy with 60 lbs even if I don't lose anymore bc I know I wouldn't have done it by myself. Like come on... If we could we would not have done this surgery. I feel amazing and that's all I wanted. Was so just feel good... And I can honestly say I do. Good luck, and stay positive my friend. -Ashley

I know EXACTLY what your going through. I am the exact way. The 1st two weeks I lost 15 lbs. it was amazing. But I gained 6 lbs back... Then lost it... Then gained... Then lost. So it was like I was going no where. I am now 3 months post op, starting weight was 265 and now I'm 214. My weight has been a yoyo. I have noticed that for 2 weeks, I'll "binge" and never feel full. I would always think about food and be depressed bc I would cheat and be oblivious to the fact that I was doing harm. But then over night, I will get flu like symptom for 2 weeks then I'll drop weight QUICK due to the constant throwing up and not having an appetite then the cycle repeats. It sucks being sick to your stomach 24/7... But I pray that this will even it's self out and I will soon find a solution to this. Keep us updated! Sending prayers -
Like 3 weeks. It was weird.. But doc approved. I was able to eat whatever By week 4

I was sleeved 1/07/14. I never had that issue UNTIL recently. About a week ago I threw up for the first time since surgery due to nausea. I threw up about 4 times, went to ER cause of dehydration. Today I saw my surgeon to being up why I don't have an appetite and asked why everything makes me sick to my stomach and all I got were dumb looks and he made me feel stupid. ( dr. Bonner in Houston, TX) I STILL have no answer. Plus, I'm a slow loser. I'm sorry I can't give u answers but at least u know you are not alone. Praying for the both of us lol :/

Ya I had to chop all my hair off -
I do work out at least 3x a week so I guess I will up that to 5-6 days a week. I just went grocery shopping and got all proteins, no carbs. I just need to stay positive and be patient

On feb 7th will be my one month post op. The first two weeks I lost 15 lbs... Now I've gained 4 lbs! My doc gave me no restrictions on food except steak and tough meat, which I haven't consumed. I make healthy choices... For example, I will chose salad over pizza or grilled chicken instead of fried. Anyone else going through or have gone through what I'm going through? Thanks! ❤️

Oh, wow, that's no fun at all. But sometimes the weight can go up or down a pound or two on any given day. This could be part of "the three week stall" we've heard so much about. How is your Fluid intake? What are your potion sizes? Are you writing down what you eat and tracking calorie/protein/carb intake? Are you drinking Protein shakes to supplement the nutrients for what you're eating? Are you constipated? It's definitely worth tracking those things and taking the information to your doctor during a follow-up to see if there's a way you can kick your weight loss back into gear. The main thing-- don't let it stress you out. Develop a healthy eating plan and stick to it! You can do it. I haven't been tracking... I will start doing that today. I am constipated but not as bad as I was when I was on pain meds but it's still going on. I am just drinking chocolate whey isolate shakes in the morning. I can usually take about a cup of food or less but def no more than a cup.

Hello, I'm sorry I made this very long, but when it Comes to it, I have a lot to say! My name is Ashley and I am 21 years old. I was sleeved January 7,2014. My surgeon said I was a great Candidate for this surgery because I am young and was still healthy. I was extremely scared for my surgery as it was my first major surgery. This experience was a lot better than I expected. The staff at memorial Hermann in Houston Texas were wonderful! They managed my pain took great care of me. Going home was when reality hit. I no longer had my nurses and I didn't have my pain pump so I had to be a big girl lol. The pain for me was about a 6 but keep in mind I am a baby and I have low pain tolerance! But I read that everyone else's pain was very low which is awesome. Today, 2.5 weeks later,I feel almost back to my old self. I only have soreness in 2 incisions but I can get up and walk as I please with no problem. Drinking liquids have become easier as I can take bigger sips now and not be terrified lol. Although this surgery has changed my lifestyle 100% and after all I went through with the procedure, I do not regret it and I don't think you will. It's understandable that your scared bc of your past experiences, but i have never read or heard anything negative about this procedure. I truly feel you will love this! Good luck and god bless ????
