  1. Thanks for this post. I'm 5 weeks out and it's very helpful.
  2. I feel lucky... I have a wonderful friend that had her sleeve done about 8 months before me and gave me her clothes as she was losing weight... She continues to lose weight :-)

    Grocery bill since surgery?

My husband and I go out to eat during our lunch hour... N the bill went down by half.... I just eat from his meal/plate. He'll get a healthy type meal n he's happy to share.... He says I'm helping him cut down as well.... So it works out. The grocery bill.... Not so much.... I wouldn't say it's higher either.... Im not saving for the same reasons already mentioned. But I still think that overall in the long run there is money savings... I won't have to spend on blood pressure meds, or meds for diabetes or those extra doctor visits

I understand....I've often wondered "if I eat this (not the most healthy choice) someone's gonna judge me, I should close my diary"... but so far I haven't had a bad experience...everyone's been very supportive...and I think that keeping my diary open helps me stay "in-check" and forces me to make better choices...that's a personal choice....I welcome ur friendship on MFP without you having to open your diary...I completely respect that. As far as calories...I'm one of those that has been under 1200 but it's because I'm not even 3 weeks out and I can't get anymore in...more than anything else =) Ellie

    Still some pain

yes, RJ's....i thought the band was helpful??? but what you say make sense thank you
  7. is anyone using this app?? I've been using it daily and I would like to connect with more friends (especially those with "open diaries") so that I can get a better idea of what everyone else is eating... I keep my diary open as well. I had my surgery 12/30/13 and i'm re-learning to eat all over again....still sounds funny to me. thank you, ellie
  8. I had VGS on 12/30/13....about 19-20 days ago. I know that was not a long time ago but I'm still having some pains and discomfort in my abdomen. I was told that it's still within "normal" but more or less how long did you have this pain??? I'm still wearing the support band I was given in the hospital because I would not be able to walk around too long without it. I returned to work this last monday (2 weeks out)....i have an office job so I am able to sit...but i have to do some walking also ....it's a big office with long hallways but by around 4 pm...i'm in pain and ready to come home and lay down. It isn't an aweful pain just very consistent....how much more am I going to have it???? thank you, ellie
