Hi, I'm not excersizing and get too many calories from beer or wine. I drink 2 beers a day or if not beer then 3 glasses of wine. I'm getting ready to fly back to Silver City in the morning and will be there on Monday. My plans are to make big changes...the excersize and no more alcohol. God top be a 6 or 8 again!!!!! -
Beware And Be Aware-those Who Take Bp Meds!!!
NM Sunshine replied to kacee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
250/150 is the stuff that gives you heart attacks and strokes. You are lucky, no permanent damage. I have two very good cuffs. One at each house I live in (Montana and New Mexico). Taking my BP medications in the daytime is a good idea. I just need to monitor my BP at night for a while after I change over. -
Beware And Be Aware-those Who Take Bp Meds!!!
NM Sunshine replied to kacee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Funny thing happened to me last week. I got up in middle of night to pee. (something I never do because of sleep meds). I felt real dizzy as I went to the bathroom, then as I began to stand up after I peed, I fell flat out on floor. I blacked out completely and fell like a rock. The next day I had a super shinner of a black eye from where I fell. I take my one BP med at bedtime. I'm wondering if I should get myself up at middle of night and take my BP? -

Califonia Nurse Wow you are doing great on your weight loss. The last fill I had was when I met you. I've needed a fill for some time and I wasn't losing anymore. I actually began to put on weight. Got that fill taken care of and am losing again. How are you doing? Bet you're feeling like a million bucks with that new figure. Agreatknead Hi, Looks like you are taking off those pounds fast too. -
Thanks bunches.:smile2: I still do great all day and have some problems at night. But as long as I sleep propped up for first hour or so all is great. It's those meds I have to take before bed. Also someone said that she had this problem and her doc told her not to eat after 6:00pm. I'm doing that. I think that there is really something to that for all you that are PBing in sleep.

You'll find that hunger greatly reduced after a fill or two. That's when you reach your 'sweet spot'. Then you must train yourself not to eat when your not hungry and not to overeat when hungry. Good Luck

I also take Clonozapam at bedtime which is a controlled drug. It has nothing like the power Seroquil has to knock you out. I asked my pharmasist why was Clonozapam and not Seroquil a controled drug and he said that Clonozapam can become addictive but not Seroquil. Ambien must also be addictive like Clonozapam abd that is why your doc will only give you 14 a month but prefers the Seroquil instead. BTW my psychiatrist feels that treatment of my manic phase is more important than addiction. -
true2 and cubs Just wanted to let you all to know that my stomach situation has improved tremendously today. I was actually able to eat 1/2 hamburger tonight and no PB's. I think sleeping in partial sitting position did the trick for me.

If you saw the ones in the Black Hills you'd fall in love with them. They come right up to your car, very comical. RIGHT ON -

They do give them away free. Take one and save a donkeys life. Ever been to the Black Hills? They are from old miner donkeys that were abandoned and just multiplied. They're tame and cute as they can be. -

I too take seroquil,300mg. I think it is what is causing the problem, it does taste horrid and burns. I've dropped how much i take down to 150mg. Last night I tried to take the seroquil extra early and in 15 minutes I had this intense need to sleep. I could feel the icky medicine/water feeling in my stomach so I slept almost sitting up. That worked. Nothing came up. -
I had to go to a new doc in Montana because I'm up here from New Mexico and just too expensive to fly down for fill. This new doc only does his fills on Monday and Tuesday. I have 5 days to attempt to heal myself. I can call doc on Monday and they will get me in right away. That is what I will do if this doesn't change a lot by them.

I am wondering if certain meds are causing the problem. They may be the kind that tend to burn and that is why the pouch throws them up when we relax as we are falling asleep. -

This is interesting as it gives you more control over your fills. I've never had floroscope. -
True2 I know you are right. We need to learn how to make the healthy choices and not expect the band to do it for us through starvation. I had such a bad night last night. As soon as I would doze off to sleep I'd have a coughing spasm because relazing caused liquid to come up and effected my lungs. This in turn triggered off my asthma. This happened 3 times. CRZY you are right I'm now believing that I need a slight unfill.

They're pack animals and miners use them to hunt for gold. They also make the wildest noises. Wish I could have one. -
I had quit losing weight and had actually began gaining. When I am able to eat, I just too often pig out on the wrong food. Guess that is why I am so reluctant to get an unfill.
-
I'm improving a little each day. Today I had 80 calories worth of tapioca pudding. Went down fine. But I dare not eat anything else for some time. I cannot understand why you eat in daytime...but PB water while sleeping. Perhaps you need to avoid food 3 hours before bed??

I understand what you are saying. It's at bedtime when the water just seems to sit in my pouch and since I haven't eaten any solid food all day, I would expect the water to just go through but it comes up along with my medicine when I first begin to doze off. I have a set of meds for morning and a set for evening. Two that I take just befor bed because they knock me out. (Bipolor meds for the manic phase). These are Clonazepan and Seroquil That is exactly like me. Sometimes I take Seroquil as a sleep med. Luckily it's an easy one to chop up into tiny pieces. How do you deal with this. I have progesterone I am supposed to take in the evening but now I take them at 8-9 rather than after 10.I am usually up past midnight. The seroquil or my muscle relaxer is the one that will come up in my sleep even if I stay up awhile to make sure it's not sitting in the pouch. I don't feel like it's stuck, and I don't get why the water comes right up as soon as I lay down when it should be through the pouch by that time and in the stomach. It's beginning to be a big problem. Especially if it gets in my lungs and i am coughing all night long. -

Your experience sounds just like mine. Am I correct that you went in for an unfill? I'm hoping to last this out as it is a super weight loss oportunity. And I think that with some weight loss the band will loosen up. I also wonder if what I am experiencing is stomach swelling. -

I have been PBing everything I take in, even water at times. Last night I took my meds and on my way to sleep the whole works suddenly came up and seem to have gotten some of it in my lungs. If I am not better by tonight I will sleep sitting up. Luckily my nighttime meds put me to sleep. When you first got that fill were you able to drink the water comfortably? -
