So happy for you. Now that is the way to celebrate New Years!!! Time for me to do some pushing to take off more weight..... went a bit overboard on xmas from chocolate truffles.

Luvsrocks We had a gas guzzling RV and sold it when gas skyrocketed. Then bought a new Conversion van (Airstream with a Mercedes diesle engine). It's 22 or 23 foot long and high enough for someone 6' or more to walk around in. It has everything, just more compact. Our old RV was getting 7 to 8 miles a gallon, this one gets about 25 miles to the gallon. The better gas milage makes a world of difference. But, for trips with long stays it's a bit cramped. 10 days will go by really fast..............

You know in some ways RV's are about taking your own personal space with you. I don't like to stay at others houses and I don't like motels. It seemed that we were the only RV on the road on xmas eve.

Boy, did I find that one out big time last night. I was excited and talking as I started on my hotdog. Next thing I know it hit!!! I ran to the sink and upchucted everything. The band reminds you to chew chew chew.

Hi, i went to visit my kids and grandkids for xmas. We had a big xmas dinner and I tried about a TSP of each thing. A few of the veggies were too stringy fiberous so I discretely spit them into a paper napkin rather than get the PB's or something. Actually found that I could only eat about a half a cup and later I was able to just eat again.... Hitting the sweet spot means that one has to learn to be really careful. When I'm stressed out it seems like I tend to PB a lot. I'm losing weight even over the holidays. Thanks. It's like all the practicing we do on how to eat is a preparation for once we reach that sweet spot. Have a happy holiday Hear me talk!

This is fun, seeing all the moving smilies...........love youall.... getting ready to head out in the RV to see the kids and grandkids. We leave at 7 AM and on christmas night it is to be 10 above...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr but we'd rather stay in the RV than with kids cause of our spoiled rotten crazy old man dog that weighs about 80 pounds. Merry Xmas everyone and am looking forward to heading back to this thread soon as I get back, sometime the day after xmas..........

It was the first time I was in Mexico, but I wasn't afraid because of the way my surgeon handles it. After you land at the SanDiego airport Laura, one of the doctors wife, picked me up and drove me everywhere. If I had to do that on my own, I'd have been terrified and lost. Also I was a bit desperate. My health is going whacko on me cause of the excess weight and I had just received just enough money ,from a settlement with ex, for a MX lapband. A USA one was out of the picture for me.

PHYL after you copied the smilies were you able to use a quick paste to get them into posts? Was wondering if the copy would work. I work with two monitors so I could just leave the smilie page on one monitor and posting screen on other. Cool,huh? Thanks

Hi Brenda B from Brenda J, you have a nice name too;) You'll find there are certain foods that your band doesn't like. Things with membranes that you cannot chew to death often are a problem..I have trouble with whole meat but do fine on ground meat. Congradulations that ha to be miserable.........all those tests. Hey does anyone know how to keep that page of a 1,000 smileys from going away when you post the note.

tweety63 I really feel for you. In that year you could have lost all or much of the weight you need to lose. Crazy thing is with the weight off you will be much healthier and save them money in the long run. My insurance HMO did something that was really bad for me. I was taking Benicar, A high blood pressure medicine that worked fine for me. I got on the HMO and they said that they would not pay for the Benicar, that I had to take an ACE inhibitor and Cozaar instead. My doc was really upset with this. While taking the ACE & Cozaar my asthema got worse, I had constant diareaa and woke up one morning with my upper lip swollen like a bag of water!! It traveled to the bottom lip and into my mouth. It was angioedema (an extreme allergic reaction to the drugs) and doc said I was lucky to be alive. The doc kept my Benicar supply up with free trials. We worked fo 4 months to get the HMO to approve the benicar!!!!!!!!!! At times I was calling them daily. Now out of nowhere I have chronic kidney disease stage 3 out of a 5 stage scale. I cannot wonder if those medicines did this? Am still in the testing phase, had a ultra sound today. Because of this I did not even try the HMO for Band coverage. Just went to MX. and self paid.

I'm in southwestern New Mexico. Silver City New Mexico. The closest cities are Las Cruces NM 100miles, El Paso Texas 140 m, Tucson AZ 200 m and Albuquerque NM 280 m.

:party:Still jumping for joy about my last fill working so well. For so long the scale stood still. I lost another pound today. I've been losing at the rate of a pound a day this last week. ( I know they are not all true pounds as some are water.) Xmas dinner is going to be tough for all of us. I'm spending mine with family, who would totaly freak out if I started PBing.

DrWatkins I'd love to have the names of a few of those USA docs. WASA and the names of the MX docs. If publicly naming them is a problem you could PM them to me. I know it will be a while before I'm at the point that I will need the PS. I'm beginning my research and money saving.

Wow I was raised in Chicago then moved to the burgs, not far from Oak Brook. A question that is off the subject.....what does the good doctor and anyone feel about plastic surgery in Mexico, the kind where they get rid of hanging skin after weight lose???

DrWatkins now that makes sense. I was thinking that the membrane of the ballon was impenetrable. Unfortunately I live a long long way from Cincinnati. I live the little town of Silver City, New Mexico, in the foothills of the Gila National Forest & Wilderness (largest in the lower 48).

For PBing problems ask yourself sveral questions. 1-are you eating too much or did you eat too much before the PB? 2-are you doing the small bites and chew enough until the food is amost a mush in your mouth. 3- are you eating when you are not belly hungry (there's a difference between 'belly hunger' and 'head hunger'. 4-Is there certain foods that you seem to always PB, burp or gurgle on? The band has a mind of her own and just does not like certain foods. I was having a lot of PBing until I started asking the above questions every time I ate something solid. Now I have no PB's.

Denise My surgeon told me that sometimes the body absorbs some of the fill. Hard for me to understand that. Perhaps DrWatson will enlighten us. BTW wish I lived in Seatle.......I 'd have my fills there

I'm with you. Learning how to eat with the lapband is the major thing we do while we prepare for the 'sweet spot'. Hey, that's a bit like having a baby :heh: LOL gives me more readon to name my band. I'm calling her Slim. Also after all the months watching the scale go nowhere it is finally dropping down. :whoo:

After reading the posts by Dr.Watson and WASA, I am extra happy that I choose to pay more so that I could have my surgery done in Hospital Angeles. I also spent 2 &1/2 days there. The hospital is brand new and state of the art. It's right over the border from San Diego.
