Anyone heard of Dr. Francisco Gonzalez in TJ?
NM Sunshine replied to Liz1531's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
CHRISTENE YNG Man I wish I had that money. I have to find a way to get it first. He has no malpractice insurance. :cryI'm researching his assets so my lawyer can slap a lien onto them. So far I've found that this guy has been repeatedly sued a bunch of times. He owns a house but has somehow managed to report his assets as $000000. I lost 7 pounds over the last 3 & 1/2 weeks. I wish it were more(like 20lbs), but at least I am losing. -

My doc gave me Prilosec. Is that the same medicine. It's a heartburn medicine. I haven't had any heartburn since the surgery. -

NICNAC thanks so. The walking does help. But I need to walk where there is no one around heheh. I am so happy I did this. 2Bthin 53 pounds. WOW You did that in a little over 4 months right? I just cannot understand why many American doctors have a cut off age of 60. Surely we can get heart surgery and such after the age of 60. Getting banded is MUCH less stressful than heart surgery. It's in our 60's that we tend to put on the dangerous belly fat and all the other morbititys like diabetes, hypertension, clogged arteries so on.:angry -

I just got back from ABQ. I won $102,000. in damages from a legal malpractice suit. :bandit My malpractice lawyer who did this for free (because he wants to see the other lawyer disbarred); told me to do reasearch on his assets. He has no insurance and may not have anything. At least I got that piece of paper. I haven't had any hunger pains since I was banded. I don't have a desire to eat either. So I'm still on liquids and force myself to eat for nutrition. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THIS DAY:eyebrows: lap_bandit how R U feeling? I'm still gassy and my tummy is still swollen and hard. -

Hi All Today marks my first week since banding. Have had this funny thing happen during the night for the last two nights. I wake up about 4am with the type of pain you feel when you eat too much and I feel like I'm going to throw up, salivation starts going crazy. I don't eat before bedtime and it's 6 hrs since Iast ate or drank anything. Could it be that I am dreaming of eating and of overeating???? Has anyone had this ?? -

You're probably home by now. I had to sleep a lot during the first few days at home. Now I feel pretty good. I've transferred over from clear liquid to not clear. I don't think the puried stage starts for a while. I found out that if you eat too much of anything, you won't know it until a few minutes after. I get a powerful stomach ache. Won't be around for a few days so CONGRADULATIONS. -

:clap2:CONGRADULATIONS So glad to hear all went well. You really get the feeling that all 3 of them really care, don't you. I'm so glad I didn't go with Dr. Ortiz. Is the nutritionist staying in touch with you by email? I know that damn scale added about 5 pounds over my scale. It was weird to starve on that liquid diet and actually gain weight!!! I'm just going to put out for the ticket and get my fills with Dr. G. With 2 weeks advance notice they can be pretty cheap. Actually I think you can get wireless interenet at hospital. You just need to ask the nurses for a code. Thats what Dr. V told me, but it was my last day so I didn't try. -

Claramae Thanks. It feels so good to get to this stage where the anxiety of surgery is past me. Ladybug WOW 59 pounds. Can't imagine how good it must feel to lose a 59pd burden. I just weighed myself and the scale is dropping. My abdomen is still full of fluids from surgery, I'll bet that is a couple pounds in itself. On another thread, someone said their doctors age stop is 59 or 60. After that he won't do the surgery. I can't for the life of me figure out why? -

hehehe a shart, I'll have to remember that one. I'll find that article on supertasters and scan it. I think it was in discover magazine, but not sure. But not be able to post it until next week. Going to be gone until next Thursday and have to prepare some giclee prints today for an art show. Am afraid the need to sleep will start to overwhelm me and I won't get my work done. The court thing is a damages suit. It's about malpractice damages against a lawyer. It cost me my only $100,000 to finally get to this point and the court will order damages of that and some more, I most likely won't see a cent unless he has a house and I can put a lean on it. But I will have that piece of paper. -

IndigoGirl thanks. This is going to be quite an adventure, especially once I get past this healing stage and into eating real food again. -
Any September bandsters out there???
NM Sunshine replied to stacy73's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
WANTTOBEMEAGAIN When you put the pill in your mouth put one of those Listerine strips in too. That helps. I have an awful lot of meds to take so I grind them up and mix them in a little juice, swollow fast and stick a mint strip in mouth. PUG4life you won't be able to lift anything over 10 pounds on Tue. also you may find yourself tired and need more sleep. Good luck -
WANNABESLIM I also add lots of ice to my Slim and Trim in the blender and it tastes loads better. I have an ice-cream maker hmmmmmmm maybe I try the slim and trim in the ice-cream maker.

Hi, banded Sept 11 and I added skim milk to my diet. Been on clear liquids and nice for something different. Everytime I eat my insides roar and I end up on the pot. Guess this is normal. Did everyone else have to be on antibiotics? I've been on them since after surgery. Otherwise all went great and i'm ready to loose my over preg. belly. Someday soon I hope. -

BTW my DH is almost 6 foot tall and weights about 165. Seems that he can eat anything and not gain. It's going to be fun giving him my leftovers and hopefully watch him put on a few pounds. He really could use a few as I think he is too thin. -

phyllser So you waited almost 2 months for your first fill. I need to make an advance plane ticket for mine. Just don't know when to figure it is time. Skinnydip I'm in the can't eat much of nothing with gas pains and a hard belly that looks like I am about to download twins, and I would still do it all over again. Feels so good not to have hunger pains. -

:whoo:Surgery went great, except for the pain in my lungs. It felt like I had Chicken Flu or something waking up from anestesia. I have asthma and that is why. One of the main reasons I had to have mine done in a hospital rather than a surgery clinic. Not much of the other pains. My rock hard belly looks like I'm about to download twins! I have to go to a court hearing this Tuesday and none of my court type clothes fit cause of belly. I couldn't produce any gas until yesterday then it was the wet toots. So I spent day on the pot. Today lots of the normal old gas. Relieves the gas pains a lot. Not had any real hunger pains but that never kept me from eating..LOL..still on liquid diet. WANTTOBEME Also I got some news for you about your sugar taste. Read an article about super tasters and if you are one you will strongly tell the difference between sugar and fake. You're a super taster. I had a hystorectomy too and the pain with it was horrid. This is MUCH MUCH less. How R U doing? -

phyllser Thanks. I still need to sleep a lot and have gas pains. But that is minor compared to what I will be getting from this surgery down the road. Been living off of jello, broth and fruit cycles. Just had my first food with milk in it (powdered milk in protein shake). Feel a little pain from it. Haven't had any hunger pains since surgery. -
Anyone with Sept 11 as their banding date?
NM Sunshine replied to cindyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Beach girl I also need to sleep a lot. I slept 10 hours last night then fell back asleep several hours later and just got up. I had strange dreams but no nightmares. I'm not taking the pain meds, so it probably is the meds causing your nightmares. -

Kitty You will find the surgery and whole process to be much easier than you think. As for the pain, everyone is different and like I said the doc said I had such a small liver that he didn't have to mess around with it much. So I think the pain may be related to moving the liver aside. But it's really nothing compared to what we will get out of it. Your belly will be very bloated, like having a set of twins in there, so bring the right clothes for going home in and a VERY gentle loose fitting bra, no underwires. No passport. Just your drivers license. And that is to go from TJ to San Diago. Goiing into TJ you need not even stop at border. You'll be happy with your choice. -

Hi All I'm Back I'm back from surgery and am completely happy that I choose Dr. Gonzales to do my surgery. He and his team really take care of you right and the aftercare is great. I'd warn anyone getting the lapband to check up on aftercare. It is as important and getting the band itself. Laura (you will love her) picked me up at the airport and helped me register into the swanky Camino Real Hotel. Then we went to Dr.G's office in his surgery clinic. He explained the whole process to me and answered all my questions. Dr. Veronica also there, (the nutritionist) weighed me, took my measurements and height and talked to me about diet and my weight goals. At 8am the next morning I was checked into the hospital. Hospital Angeles is way beyond any hospital I have ever been in. Next the cardiologist took my EKG and wanted a treadmill one done. If I didn't pass it, I wouldn't get the surgery. I passed it!!!!! Dr. V stopped by to talk to me as did Dr. G. Then they brought the surgery team in and introduced me. I'n surgery I had Dr.G, another surgeon, Dr. V, an anesthesiologist and 3 nurses. All went very smooth. Dr. G. said my liver was so small that the surgery only took 25 minutes. Laura stopped by later. The nurses were great. The next day Dr. G stopped by as did Dr.V. Dr. Veronica gave me paperwork, telling me all sorts of stuff as to my ideal weight range and body fat % so on. She will be working with me through email on my weight loss. The next day I was released and Dr. V and Dr. G stopped by again givng me prescriptions and more instructions. Laura drove me to airport. The border crossing into the USA takes an hour!!! I flew to Tuscon last night and got home today. I had such a good experience, the doctors and Laura feel like family. I will be going back for my fills. I don't think I would have had a better experience anywhere, else. On Thursday Laura passed a message to me from Lapbandit. Her surgery is today. There was another women in the hospital who had the lap band by a different surgeon and she was miserable with pain. I didn't have any pain. My lungs hurt after surgery because I have asthma. My stomach bloated up and I had some gas pain. There's no hunger pains. You're surpose to walk to relieve the gas pain. Today all that gas is coming out. Stomach is still bloated. The worse part of it all was taking my medicines crushed up in Water. I take a lot of meds and UGHHH Here's a hint save a bit of the applejuice to put the meds in and get those Listerine breath strips. Drink the meds and stick a strip in your mouth right away. __________________
