Oh I am so sorry! I don't know much about medic loans other than that I hear they cost way too much. Can you ask your employer to ask weightloss surgery to the plan? I have also heard of company's doing that. It's just not right. With Cigna OAP I guess I thought they had same coverage?

I don't think u will have a hard time getting approved. I have even called insurance twice to just make sure all is correct and I think BMI Over 40 is a magic number
-
Cigna OAP will cover is medical needs are met. If BMI is over 35 with two co morbities and 3 months weight checks. I am doing my last one today but it has to be 3 months or 90 days. That takes me to April 14 so hopefully may will be surgery month! Goody I

Jodie1961, where will u be having surgery? I will having mine in Carmel with Dr Evanson. I have Cigna insurance so hoping they approve fast!! -
Erin18 I just wanted to share alittle with you. I had the lap band instead of the bypass from fear of all I heard a out the bad things that could happen. I had it for a year and puked most of that year cause it slipped. Had it taken out and began running!! I ran 9 5k races and did 2 Indy marathons of course only walking most of it I was still a little heavy. Hurt my knee and year and half ago now I am back up to the weight I was before the lap band. My sweet Lord knows if I could have kept it off I would!! If I could have run it off I would!!! If I could have starved it off I would!! Some of us just can't do it with just ourselves!! My word I have worked myself miserable trying to lose the weight! I am heading I to my last weight check next week and so very excited for this surgery!! We deserve health and confidence it just harder for us than others! WE ARE WORTH IT!!!

After having a lap band slip and having it removed I was afraid to tell anyone my plans for bypass surgery. People just don't understand the looks and comments but more importantly the helpless feelings we go thru. My husband and mom are very supportive. My mom had this surgery Andover over 100 pounds and has kept it off. But others do nothing to put out the negative and I just chalk it up to their fear and not understanding. I just want to a scream out loud that HEY MY BODY IS SUFFERING AND I NEED HELP.

I am so happy for your march surgery!!! Wishing it was mine!!!! Haha after such a roller coaster ride with the lap and and busting my booty to keep it off to no avail I am ready for this!! Can I ask how long it took ur insurance to approve? I have CIGNA OAP. I love in Indiana and after a horrible winter I am hoping for a new season all around!!

Wow!!! Great inspiration for me!!???????? -
Wow I also had the lap-band and passed on the bypass from fear alone. After having the band for one year it slipped and since we were in the process of adopting from China I waitied til we brought her home before I couldn't take any longer before having it taken out. Oh and my insurance would only pay for it if I went thru the emergency room!! So here I am almost as heavy as when I got the band. New insurance thru Cigna and one more weight check before all paper work is done. I have three friends and my mom had bypass and they r great!!!

I keep looking at the end of the tunnel and there is a light that does get brighter so just keep on keep'in on!! Jump thru those hoops cause we are in it to be healthy and enjoy our well deserved lives!! -
