Hello All,
My name is Stacy Ferguson and I am scheduled to have RNY Gastric Bypass on Feb.17, 2014 with Dr. Alejandro Lopez in Tijuana Mexico.
I have battled my weight all my life and have finally reached a point of acceptance that, although I can diet, exercise and lose weight as I have done all my life, I am even better at gaining it back along with a bit extra each time.
I just turned 45 and have managed to hit my highest weight ever “265”!! :-o
As I have gotten older the losing has gotten harder and the regain has gotten easier so I am ready to admit that I cannot do it on my own and need a tool if I am going to succeed.
My husband has a very similar story as I (I often refer to him as the male version of me) and will be having the surgery as well; most likely in mid-March. He has already felt the impact of his long term weight issue and now has: diabetic, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and countless aches and pains.
I haven’t reached those issues yet but I know it is a matter of time if I do not do something about this problem.
My husband will be having his surgery here in the states, as his insurance covers it. I on the other hand recently found out I could not join my husband’s insurance because my employer provides coverage for me….. and my coverage does not cover WLS, so off to Mexico I go.
I am nervous and would love to find others that are heading to TJ on or around the 17[sup]th[/sup] of Feb. as I will be going this one alone (my hubby cannot take additional time off with his surgery so near to follow).
