I talked to the insurance coordinator at my hospital and they are just waiting on the letter from psych. We are looking at June 9th as a potential date. I am so nervous and hope I get approved!

Tony is so nice! -
Also I ended up watching YouTube surgery videos and the idea of someone removing half of my stomach made me a bit nervous.
-
I called the insurance coordinator and am waiting on him to call me back. I hope everything gets submitted soon!

I was originally going with the sleeve until.my surgeon told me that the sleeve can cause bad reflux. I already have it pretty bad and don't want to suffer. I have about 125 pounds to lose and he told me honestly that I would be more successful with the bypass. Ultimately that final decision is up to you

Oh and they have to mix up the barium in your tummy so they might have you move in some crazy positions
-
It was about 30-45 min. The crazy part is the table moving. He saw the fear in my eyes and told me it can hold up to 1000 pounds hehe. I found out I have a small hernia and bad reflux. The radiologist will tell you what they are doing every step along the way

April 2014 pre-op group

I am so sorry about your mri experience. I schedule MRIs and my hospital has special MRI scanners for different sizes. Funny that you say you heard them talk about how large you are and it snapped you back! That is what happened to me this past week. The closer I get to the 15th the more I panic, well I went in for a MRI and the nurse had to take me aside and tell me I was too large in my stomach to do the machine. Which really put things I to perspective. I have to go through with this! Still pisses me off that my dr did not do the open MRI considering my weight. And now we have to go back through the trouble of rescheduling somewhere else. All I can do is remind myself this time next year I won't have these problems. Good luck on your surgery -
How much time off work-office/desk job
cutiepieinchi replied to jodie1961's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm taking about 10ish days. I just started a new job and can't take off much more than that. I do have a plan through my job if something happens and I can't get back.
