December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
april9529 replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am also on high amounts of protein and fluids, but I just get in what I can. I connect my drinking with tasks that I have to do at regular intervals in my day anyway. Bell rings- drink. Check attendance- drink. Transition from vocab to lesson- drink. Transition to quiz- drink. Etc. My life has become a bad drinking game lol. But it is helping. -

I have to get in lots of fluids and protein also-- to the point of virtually impossible. But, I just get what I can get. I also have a routine with myself that helps. I connect drinking with tasks I hve to do at regular intervals check attendance- drink. Finish vocabulary- drink. Kids transition from quiz to notes- drink. Etc etc etc. I find in a high school class I am making a change every fifteen or thirty minutes-- so if I drink when I make those changes- I can keep up somewhat. -

I use an app called interval timer. I think it's really for workouts or something but I set it up to beep every thirty minutes. That worked for me when I was required to drink every thirty minutes right after surgery. Maybe give it a try. (High school English teacher here-- so I totally understand.) -

I am new here and just ran across the title of your post. I love it. This us what I tell myself almost everyday. No matter what- ill never be as heavy as I was when I started- I'll never feel like that again. For me-- it's not about perfection- just going better today that I did yesterday and knowing that I'll never have to go back to the day I heard/saw that highest number. Good luck on your journey- I'll be thinking of u and sending positive vibes your way! -

My name is April. I had my sleeve on December 17th. I'm 36 years old, 5'2", and started my journey at 335lbs. At my two week post op appt I was down to 303. My mom and I are on this adventure together. She had her sleeve a week before I did. Just wanted to say HI and maybe talk to others on this crazy ride, too.
