Why are you only doing 500 cal /day? That seems so low. I had the band and plication and am a week post op and not hungry. I hope I am still like this in a few weeks!

Are you guys able to eat carbs or a lot more food in one setting after you've had the band a few years?

I am only a week post op and still on liquids but am fearing the day when something gets stuck and want to be prepared. Do you just wait it out ? Are there any exercises that help? Does sipping warm tea help 'break it up' ? How long has it taken to resolve ? Does getting stuck just mean lots of discomfort ? Does vomiting occur or not ? What do you do god forbid this happens in public !?

Congrats! I am amazed at how much you lost prior to surgery. If that was me I might second guess my decision to have surgery due to all the success (but then again I had to take out a $10k loan for my surgery). My dr didn't require a pre op diet at all so no weight loss for me prior to surgery. I am a week post op now. You seem to doing great and losing a lot post sx too! After reading on here that rice can be tough after being banded, my last hurrah meal was going out for sushi ( and lots of it lol ) !

To the original poster of this topic, I understand your gripe but can't help but think of the exact same scenario where wife gets thin and sexy BUT husband doesn't seem to notice and has no increased interest in sex. The woman in that scenario would be majorly annoyed too! Seems like men are damned if they do and damned if they dont!!

I was banded two days ago and the first night could only sleep 1-2 hours at a time. Kept having to change position because of discomfort. The second night was a little better at 2/3 hr stints. Hopefully it just gets better over time. I am not in extreme discomfort but am taking my pain meds every 6 hours or so because it takes the edge off and allows me to sleep.

Congrats you are doing great! I hope to be where you are in a month. I am two days post op. I too had 3cc put in during surgery. I like that u can still eat thin crust pizza. Do you feel restriction yet or what helps you to stop eating after a small portion?

If the yogurt even starts to get warm it separates even more. I bring one to work in my lunch pak and this doesnt keep it cold enough and it separates like crazy. So now I put it in the fridge at work. Also 10-15 min in the freezer will tighten it all back up again so you dont see the separation and it's nice and chilled

Congrats! Your starting weight is close to mine (I just had sx 2 days ago) and I would love to be 175!! Can you talk alittle bit about your journey this past year (ups and downs) and what your eating /exercise routine is like today?

I am 2 days post op and on liquids for three weeks. I will see my surgeon for a post op recheck tomorrow but wanted to get some opinions of others. I realize that in the next three weeks there is little to no way I am going to be able to drink enough calories for a balanced diet. Should I try to reach a protein goal? I can do protein shakes.

I am young (30) and strong, no comorbidities and my BMI is 41 so I feel like this helped me be able to do it alone. The nurses were shocked at how well I bounced back, I asked to do a lap of the hospital floor a few hours post op thanks to Bandista's advice - waking really helps. The hospital staff is so used to really sick patients they do not push or expect someone to be up and waking a few hours later. But if you feel up to it - make your wants known and they will help you

No you are not able to leave the hospital alone, I had a cab pick me up. I had surgery around 9am and stayed at the hospital till 5ish. I don't think I would of been ready to leave 2-3 hours later. We made a quick stop at walgreens to pick up meds then he dropped me off at the hotel. My car is still at the hospital, I will take a cab to go pick it up later today or tomorrow.

I am now 36 hrs post surgery. Not hungry at all, drinking fluids just to stay hydrated. But in the hospital room post op the food commercials were making me crazy. And walking through the Walgreens to the pharmacy to pick up my pain meds It was hard to walk past the cookie aisle. Those Oreos were calling to me. Just head hunger and knowing I will be on liquids only for the next 3 weeks making me crazy I think. But now I have no appetite. I don't.care about food I just want to heal and for the swelling to go down.

Feeling pretty good, relaxing in my hotel room and taking pain meds. Trying to walk a lot too

Why are scrambled eggs a problem once banded? They seem so soft like they would go down easily.
