I'm Losing My Mind !!! Any Albertans out there with VSG?
Magician44 replied to chunk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I got my sleeve in March through AHS. I'm in Calgary and my wait from the very first intake session to my surgery was 15 months. During those 15 months I was working with my wonderful dietician, psychologist and nurse and the time passed by flying. I am really happy with the support I've have from the program. I can't even imagine how hard it would have been to do this on my own. -

Two months have past since my sleeve surgery and I'm feeling alive, full of energy. I'm 32 lbs less since my surgery date and feeling grateful to walk this journey. I'm able to eat almost anything in small portions and I'm walking a lot. Thanks to all of you for your support.

I'm 6 weeks post op and I lost only 25 lbs since surgery. Which is an average of 3.8 lbs per week. Is this ok or I'm loosing to little? -
Is it realy only the first few weeks the hardest time and then it gets much bette?

I agree with u Terri. I'm a month post op and one day too. The most difficult thing it's listening too ur body. There are a few things that have help me: A) grab very small bites ( the size of the tip of my small finger, I would say). Chew my food a lot. Sometimes I swallow 2-3 times in one bite. C) wait about 1 min between bites. D) I stop eating when I start to burp or hip cup. This is the way my stomach tells me "no more food please" Eating take me about 1/2 an hour. Good luck in your journey -
Wow!!! Congratulations and thank u for inspiring us.

I had my struggles on my first week post op: pain, swollen, not been able too eat or drink much, etc. once I started my second week I feel amazing. I'm still doing my liquid diet and I can drink without pain. The challenge now is too recognize when I'm full and too drink me 1/2 cup of liquid in 20-30 mins. I'm also 13 pounds down since surgery and I'm running out of clothes that fit me :-). Thanks to all of you out there for support me in this journey.

anyone with a march date?
Magician44 replied to nesser's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
What nutritionist suggested me it's to drink liquids every hour and time myself for 15 mins. Usually, I can drink 5-7 sips of water during that time. -

March 19 and 5 days post op. I'm on a full liquid diet ( which means I can't eat blended soups, Popsicles, drinking yogurt , etc). I have had my rough days, but I'm getting better. I have lost 9 pounds since surgery and I'm getting better everyday. :-) -

Thanks so much for your support. My tummy hurt even with clear water. I was finally able to talk to my surgeon today and he asked me if I was taking my pain medication regularly. I said "no because I'm not in pain when I don't eat or drink". He said I think this is the problem. Your stomach is still swollen and when it moves, it hurts" he advised me to take my pain medication regularly for the next 2 weeks and gave an appointment for Wednesday in case this wouldn't solve the problem. I took me pain medication and I'm back to normal. No pain!!!! Thank so much for your support guys. I really appreciate it and I don't feel alone in this journey.
