Old Navy pants have never fit me right. Maybe when I'm a smaller person. Lol. You guys are making me sad they have never worked for me. So I had my most stressful week since surgery. We are having earthquakes left and right and I was rear ended on the freeway today while driving my dads luxury sport car. Awesome. Even more awesome? Girl who hit me has no insurance, car isn't registered and she's on probation. What a peach!!! I was so stressed out and it's interesting that my first instinct wasn't to eat! I am just now realizing it and I'm so proud of myself. But I am also so over today!

The post about the safety of the surgery is from back in December in the research section.

I believe there's a forum on here for science and research of the surgery. It's considered the safest laparoscopic surgery. Safer than a gallbladder removal. That report made me feel so much better. I wish I knew how to link to it. I don't know how to do that from my phone but may be able to do it when I'm on my computer later.

I think it's good you are really thinking this through. And asking questions on forums like this is always a good idea. I struggled with the potential complications. I was a ball of anxiety the two weeks leading up to my sleeve day (2/13). Yesterday was six weeks out for me and I can't believe the difference this has made in my Life. I knew it would be a good change. My type 1 diabetes has never been better and I'm down almost 30 pounds. I decided the potential risks were worth the payoff. And I was right. Keep doing your research and asking questions. If you see a story from someone that you appreciate or want to ask them questions, private message them. I have made so many friends on these forums which made my process so much easier. Good luck!

The apps "My Fitness Pal" and "Lose It!" Are my go to fitness/food diary apps. I also invested in a fitbit flex. It has been amazing to see how much moving I do in a day. That also has a phone app available to track food. It's a wonderful tool.

Ana! This is such hopeful news. I pray it heals well and you can move on from this! Thanks for keeping us updated! -
My scale finally went back down. Two pounds from onederland! 201! I will have to fight my severe scaleoholism and not weight everyday for the next week. Fridays are my weigh in day. Not Mon-Sun!

Last I weighed I was down 26lbs. I am six weeks out today and haven't weighed in ten days. My stall was really bugging me and then I started my period and had to go to the ER for fluids after a bout of food poisoning. After the ER I had gained and got so upset I stopped weighing. I knew my period and the IV fluids weren't a good combo and caused the gain but it made me realize how scale crazy I was. I see the difference in how I feel and how my clothes fit. That's good. Enough for me now.

Skipping meals makes it tough on your body! But I really understand. When I was banded I never ate. Seriously, I would get to dinner and that would be my first meal. Once things calm down I'm sure you'll be able to get a good routine going.

We have opposite problems. I am hitting 900ish cals no problem. But that's with two shakes on top of meals. I also am on my period and had to go get IV fluids at the ER so I'm hoping after that all calms down I will be back down on the scale. And a poop might help too.

SF is back on the boards and we are back to talking poop! Lol. I am drinking my Smooth Move tea right now! Haha!

If I drink shakes, I do. But I keep trying to eat protein and its not happening. I tend to prioritize water over eating. I know that's bad and I'm working on it.

Well cutting the calorie drinks will help. I am down almost 30 pounds since pre-op liquids. Water is the only thing I allow myself. I know it isn't easy. And if you need to go buy some crystal light of mio. Whatever works to get you off the high calorie liquids
-
I will keep you in my prayers. I can totally relate to how you feel. I am not getting enough protein in and it's purely my choices. I have to re-train my brain. Keep trying. You'll get there.

Yesterday I landed in the ER. I woke up at 3am vomiting. But I didn't really have anything in my system. I kept dry heaving and vomiting anything I attempted to drink. I finally emailed my surgeon and called my endo. Both said go to the ER. I was there for 6 hours getting fluids and zofran. I feel so much better today. I took my daughter to the park and cooked dinner for my husband. Doctor thinks I ate some bad salmon. It didn't taste or smell bad. It was one of my favorite meals since surgery. Lol. But whatever it was, I'm so glad I went to the ER.

I haven't put mine away, but have had to train myself to not weight like a crazy person. I am back to weighing once a week which is very helpful. My mind can't take anymore "how much did I lose since yesterday?" head games.

If your friends know you had surgery ask for a sip of someone's drink. A sip or two wont kill you and will help you feel like a part of the fun.

I was dumb and had a drink with my brother and his friends only 3.5 weeks post-op. I couldn't believe how buzzed I was from one drink and how dehydrated I got. I didn't get hungover or sick. But I definitely shouldn't have done it. Not only is my tummy still healing, my liver was taxed from surgery with all the anesthesia and the medication I took 10 days post-op. My advice is don't do it.

So glad to hear this SJ. I finally got through my stall. I think. Lol. Great job hun!
-
I'm sorry. I haven't had one of those moments yet though I'm sure I will. I hope you are feeling better and through your stall soon.

I'm not sure. It happens some times. Maybe on a computer it can be deleted?

Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...

I am 4 weeks post op. I have gone low at least once a day. Not trying to scare you. I have glucose gel and tabs. I can even drink juice. My only issue was the first two weeks post op whenever I had the glucose or juice it made me nauseas. But I never threw up so my sugars came back to normal. I feel great having better blood sugar control.

I love the app. It is so helpful. Thanks for the suggestion!

Are you sure you aren't vomiting from reflux? I threw up twice before I realized it was severe reflux. I had never had heart burn or reflux before so I didn't understand what was going on. Now that I'm on meds for it I am having no trouble with vomiting and feel so much better.
