I have had a few drinks. Not together. Except one night. I had a ridiculously huge margarita with my brothers (so it was still technically just one) and it was awful. I got really dehydrated. I wasn't even really hungover but I just felt bad all night. But I have had both mixed drinks and wine. A half glass of wine really helps me relax and feel like a "normal" (non-sleeved) person. But I haven't done it more than 2-3 times. I have also found the alcohol topic to be really hard to talk about. People just talk down about it and try to make you feel like an idiot. If you have just one glass I'm sure you'll be fine. But don't be surprised if you can't finish it or get tipsy really fast. Enjoy your date night!

I find that I can eat more than I did with the band and more than my nutritionist thought I could. But my surgeon isn't worried so neither is my nut. I am very comfortable and so so happy. I can eat a reasonable amount and still lose weight and keep my sugars stable.

Looking good! I need to do mine soon.

My restriction is really weird too. Some days I feel like two bites will make me bursts, and others I have no problem eating 6-8 oz and feeling satisfied. I notice it really depends on what I did for breakfast. Shake mornings I notice more restriction. Soft boiled egg and a bacon or avocado slice morning I have less. I guess it depends on how stretched it gets. Lol.

Amen! I was hoping to leave some boob along the way. Lol. Went from a 38F to a 36H. Ridiculous. And I'm so uncomfortable.
-
Is this possibly why my boobs are growing and not shrinking like I was hoping for?! Lol.

I bought some frozen turkey burgers from Costco too. I like teriyaki so much. Add a slice of pineapple and I'm sold!

Another suggestion...if you have the extra money get something like a fitbit or a jawbone up. My fitbit has opened my eyes about how active or inactive I really am. It's been very helpful.

They were ridiculously tasty. Such a good find! And I got 10 in the pack for $11.99. Not bad.

I agree with SF. I broke both my stalls but cutting carbs and upping calories. Throw an extra shake in your day or an extra serving of low sodium deli meats. I find more avocado in my diet now. I hit about 1000 calories a day and have come out of my stall and have lost 2-3 pounds a week since. I'm down to 195 now so I'm not surprised my weight loss has slowed. But it's been very steady the last two weeks. Also keep up your water intake. I'm back to getting over 100oz of water in and walk a minimum of two miles a day. I hope you get out of your stall soon!

Love the sound of this. Next time I go shopping I will have to pick up some ground turkey and gluten free bread crumbs so hubs can have then too!

I found these at Costco today. They're tasty and high protein low carb. The only downside is they're pretty up there in sodium.

Molly, for your pain could you handle crushed pills? I had to take crushed Percocet in a shot glass of water post op because the liquid pain meds make me so sick. My sister-in-law has pseudotumor cerebri. That's tough. I can't imagine having pain and feeling sick all the time. I think weight loss is supposed to help that, right? I know that doesn't mean surgery instantly fixed it. Please keep us updated. We are a very supportive group. I'm not on as much as I used to be but I will be on from time to time. Good luck. Jen

How are you doing?

I did a clean out this weekend too. Good job! It feels good.

I agree with Fab's advice. You need to track and see how much you're getting in. I get around 900-1000 cals a day which my NUT and surgeon are fine with and I am losing steadily. The number may be different for you but you have to experiment to figure it out. Also you need to be getting your water and vitamins in as well. It's a crazy balancing act but you can do this!
-
Haha! I had to go buy some new undies too. It's the little things I didn't think of.
-
I'm glad you called the doctor. I am also struggling with vitamins and met with my NUT today and she said the same thing. Find what works and stick to it.
-
Haha. She just stumbled into my chiropractor's office one day. She's amazing!

I had a massage on Saturday. My massage therapist is also an acupuncturist (but doesn't practice at the doctor's office I see her at). I was telling her about the stalls and how my weight loss has slowed. She told me about some ancient eastern medicine theory that losing weight causes you to hold on to phlegm and mucus. So she told me she was going to do some extra work on my lymph nodes. She told me I would lose better this week. I'm not sure how the voodoo magic she did workds but after a long stall and then three weeks of losing a pound a week or less, I'm down three pounds since Saturday. Also I am having a constant clear runny nose. I usually get that during my massage and right after. But this has been pretty non stop. It's a little annoying but nothing awful. I'm not sick. So I thought I would share because I think it's interesting.

I have noticed the same thing. I eat one bacon slice for breakfast with some avocado chopped on top of it and I do great. But if I eat something with just a few carbs/calories I stall or even gain.

Do it!!! Go SJ go!
-
I love deli pastrami. I also do salami on occasion but I know it's very fatty so it's usually 3-4 slices from the deli as a treat.
-
Amazing SJ!!! Keep it up.

I have dropped my basals. Started with a range of 2-3 units an hour. Now under 1 an hour. It's been great. The last time I got under 7 was when I was pregnant two years ago. My pregnancy was oddly easy. I had control of my sugars like never before. Or since. Haha. I am hoping to get back there in the next few months.
