    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I will keep you both in my prayers. It's not nearly as serious but my mom was hit by a car a few weeks ago and had a minor surgery due to her accident. We live with my parents right now so I have been a full time caregiver and full time mommy of a toddler for the last month and my diet and exercise routine have suffered. I struggled with my protein and just got back to the gym for the first time yesterday. I gained 4 pounds over the past month too. It sucks! Please do your best to get some rest and at least get the protein in if you can. I know it isn't easy! Is your husband still in the hospital? Or is he home? Please keep us updated and don't hesitate to post here or even PM me if you need to chat.

Wahoo for big panties! Lol. I had to do that a few weeks after surgery. It's one of those things that hits all of a sudden. You're like "my underwear are swimming in my pants!"

NSV for me today is wearing cute jeans I haven't been able to wear in three years! And they're a little loose. But they're REAL denim with a zipper AND pockets! I'm so excited. I have been a yoga pant/jeggings only girl for a few years now.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I eat nonstop. I have since like week 8? Whenever they gave us the green light for solids like fresh chicken. I eat about 1200 cals a day and feel hungry all day even if I take a ppi and eat high protein. But I am still losing and feeling better than ever.

Most of my closest friends and family know about my surgery. But I still get compliments. If you aren't comfortable sharing just say thank you and if they ask what you've been doing day you're eating a high protein diet and working out.

Hi there friends. Sorry it's been so long since I posted. I have not forgotten you. I was wondering if any of you that offered for us to meet in your homes are still up for that? I would love to get a meeting time set up and get a group together. Please respond here or private message me. Thanks! Jen

    anyone with type 1 diabetes?

I am almost 3 months post op with type 1. I have never felt better in my life. There is a thread already started with a few of us type 1s. I will look for it to guide you there. I can't remember where it is off the top of my head. Sorry!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Someone posted a pic of something called "P3" which are like lunchables with meat, cheese and nuts. You can find them with the lunchables at most grocery stores. Also where I live most burger places do lettuce wrapped burgers or chicken. That has been good for me when I'm on the go. I do okay with the lettuce but I know some people struggle. Also the premier protein is pretty easy to take in the car. For those of us who have had our weight loss slow down we must remember that that's still a loss and slow and steady wins the race. That's not meant to discourage anyone who may still be losing lots of weight each week. But just because we aren't losing 5+ pounds a week anymore does not mean we are failing.

I am so glad it motivated you! I try to cheer on all my fitbit buddies from time to time. If anyone ever gets a taunt it was meant for my dad. Haha.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I totally understand. After a long day with my mom last week (after her accident) I went to the grocery store and somehow came home with poptarts and redvines. Then over the weekend I was out of town for my baby brother's college graduation and ate carbs at most of the celebrations. Cinnamon rolls, pizza, tacos...I got home last night and couldn't believe what I had managed to eat and drink. Today I have been on two walks and made another appointment with my trainer (had to cancel on her since I had no one to watch my baby and had to take care of mom). But no more excuses. It's time to buck up and get back to it. I still feel emotionally wiped. But I will feel better if I'm working out and eating right. On a happier note, mom is doing much better and I am at over 16,500 steps today. My family all has fitbit with me and they think I need to aim for 14-15k steps a day because I get 10k so easily. They're probably right. So I'm getting back on track and even though its only day one I can already feel the difference. Good luck Cwang. I'm proud of you for going back to the gym.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

My parents were going for a walk. They made it two houses down when their neighbor pulled into his driveway. They waited for him for pull in then walked across the driveway and without warning the guy put it in reverse and sped back. He hit y mom so hard it threw her halfway across the street! He's been their neighbor for over 20 years and didn't know who they were. He immediately accused them of planning the accident and running behind him on purpose. The reality is he didn't look. The police are involved so now it's this big ordeal when they guy couldn't just apologized and offer up his insurance info. I'm worried about mom and also selfishly annoyed that I no longer have free babysitting. I know that is terrible to say. I was just getting into routine with my trainer and now I have cancelled all sessions for the next three weeks. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I will be taking care of mom as long as she needs me!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hi all. My mom will be alright. She has had ten surgeries on one knee so that knee is very fragile. She sees her orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. Her left foot's X-ray looks awful. They think its a torn ligament. Poor thing. Ultimately we are grateful she is okay but I fear for her poor knee and worry she won't be able to walk again. She's been on crutches and in a wheel chair ever since the accident on Sunday.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Just been busy! Still pretty active. But my mom was hit by a car on her walk sunday night. Between that a d the weather we are having...terrible, dry winds this week with almost 100 degree temps...I haven't made it on many walks or been able to get to my trainer since my mom was watching my daughter. And I'm out of town Friday through Thursday. So who knows how much activity I will get then. Hope you are all well!

    Strayed From The Soft Diet

I cheated a few times. I was honest with my NUT and my surgeon. I was surprised by their reactions. They weren't angry. They were more surprised by what my stomach could handle. But I'm ten weeks out now and sticking to the program. I just started my solid foods a little early. I cheated a few times. I was honest with my NUT and my surgeon. 20. That's great news! So glad to hear you're healed up and starting to eat again. Good luck!

Hi everyone. I checked with my local library (which has two branches) and you have to pay to use their meeting rooms and their rooms looked pretty booked up for the next six weeks. Just wanted to keep you in the loop.

    vomiting

Why are you throwing up? Drinking water too fast? Or are you sick? If you think it's from willing too much too fast just take small sips and if you have a smart phone or tablet download the app "eat slower." If your vomiting continues you need to call your surgeon. Throwing up a lot isn't good for your new tummy.

    Why Band to Sleeve?

I agree. I didn't know about the sleeve back in 2009 and wish I had. It would have saved me a lot of trouble, pain and surgery. But I count it as a learning experience. At least it only caused me discomfort and not permanent complications.

    Nectar protein

Another alternative to shakes is isopure protein water. They're also fruit flavored and are very easy to drink. But they are big. Like 20 oz. my first few weeks post op I could only drink one a day. But it met my water and protein needs. You can find them at GNC and the Vitamin Shoppe. Good luck!
