    In my 2nd Stall!

I believe our stalls are just the bodies way of the outside catching up with the inside. Ie; if you have 100 stair steps to climb.. you will probably take a few rest stops the first time you climb them....dont you think the body needs to do the same with its sudden weight loss? Sounds silly i guess...but it helps me to not lose out on a perfectly wonderful day simply because i step on my scale and it doesn't meet my expectations . Relax and enjoy how far we have come...not how far we have to go..or you'll miss out on some amazing moments.

I do tend to chew foods well...but forget to set the fork down between bites.. but don't get more than 2 or 3 bites before the feeling of restriction hits..then i have to stop eatting for about 20 min. And normally just give it up till my next effort to eat. (I don't get hungry..i just try to get my proteins in) Your input was very helpfull. If i need to take a half hour to eat...i definitely need to wait longer between bites. Thank you.

I am on my 8th week post op. Down 35# from sleeve date 1/4/14 My question is about solid foods. Is it to early? I try small bits of chicken but it sticks there and causes presure in my stomach. I just go back to protein shakes and puried foods. But I'm not getting my allotment of protein in and I'm feeling tired most days. How many weeks/months are you all waiting to add solid foods?

    How is everyone doing?

I was sleeved on 1/4/14 .into my 8th week and down 35# . (March 5th today) Nervous about adding solid foods. I try bits of chicken but it feels like it just sticks there and hurts for a good 20. Minutes . So i just stick with Protein shakes and baby food type purries. When do you all start your solids? Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself. Would apprecuate advice . Thank you

    Less activity

Hang in there. I just turned 60 last month. My stall happened at 3 weeks out. I'm into my 8th week now and -35# Down. That may seem slow to some...but its more than i lost pre sleeve in a year. Good luck on your journey. You'll be fine.

    Four-1/2 months post surgery

I am 7 weeks post sleeve. Been feeling good up to when i try full foods. Can't keep anything solid down. I'm so tired if pureed food and protein shakes. I had my first (emotional eatting effort) glad it was icecream! Took about 5 spoonfull...way to fast...ugghh...talk about hurt and milky foamy stuff. Thank God though .. i don't think i will turn to food next time!!! LOL CONGRATS on your weight loss. And go slow on the dating. There are many experiences to enjoy. May i ask...how long dud it take you to keep down solid foods? Start wt 225 surg wt 220 (1/4/14) todays wt 193# losing most at 3 weeks...just a pound or two weekly now. But that's more than i lost all of last year. Still no real hunger. Just worry about the proper amount of proteins ..when i can't seem to get to next stage of foods. Thanks for your input.

    60+ sleevers please help

Glad i found a site for age 60!! I am 6 weeks post op on my sleeve. And hope to find friends and information on using this tool to the best of its abilities.
  14. Just saying hello and seeing how your doing.
  15. Glad to meet you. -16# since jan 29th is a great loss! I'm into my 6th week And still on mostly soft foods. Tried meats cut small and well chewed but still it came back up...so I'm sticking to protein shakes w/plain yogurt ..baby food meats..pudding..jello.(.cottage cheese & canned pumpkin mixed is pretty good) I was 225 in dec. By jan 4 ( surgery date) only down to 220# . So from Surgery date to today.. I'm at 195#. Also droping inchs so i don't mind the losses slowing down these last 3.5 weeks. (I have only lost 5# in last 3.5 weeks..but the inchs are going.) Let me know how your doing and feel free to friend me. Linda
  16. Dec 1, 2013. 225# Size 18w Jan. 1, 2014. 220# Sleeved. 1/4/14 My goal is to get rid of 80# i figure if i can "average" a -4# weekly loss i can reach my goal in 20 weeks. ( That's -16# Per month) I know it will drop fast at first...then slow. . Even stall but if i can focus on the averages maybe i won't panic. Does this sound unreasonable ? I have other goals... to walk a flight of steps and still breathe at the top. To tie my shoes and not have to hold my breath. To be able to get down on the floor to play games with my grandchildren. ..and to get back up unassisted. To fit into my size 8/10 wardrobe i have held on to for too long. To walk/run a 5K with my daughter and her family for the first time ever. Thanks for all of you that are here with me and for unconditionally supporting each other.

  20. I felt the same way...why do this so late in life. I'm basicaly healthy..some "old. age" stiffness..all normal for what i figuref am old girl would feel. but the extra 80 or do pounds snuck up through the years. i went out less. did less activities untill i wad doing none at all. had to hold my bresth to tie my shoes..avoided.stairs if i could. i finally realized i had no life and never saw that coming! Do this year at.59 (i will ne 60 in February ) i decided i eant my life back. i eant to breath and walk and dance and maybe even date again...but mostly i want to be a healthy active 90 year old. so 1/4/2014 i did it. i feel fine. i feel hopefull that the fat lady in the mirror will soon step aside.and i can take a.good look at ME. so i say do it!! ..,,(60 is the new 40 you know.)
