"doin the dirty" is sooo much better now!

Screw TMI this is a powder room, sex got ten times better after surgery. Like holy crap, I haven't been this freakin horny ever. I have always had a high sex drive but now its way higher. I love that I can move around better, not so self conscious of my body, and can go way longer than I use too.

      Kaylee,

      Watch a movie.

Go for a walk even it's a short one.

Take up a hobby or if you already have one do it.

Play a game on the computer.

      Go to the library.

      Go for a drive.

These are all distractions that will get you involved in a positive thing.

Take care of yourself because you are number one priority.

    I hate this site :(

What were your realistic expectations of this website. Every surgeon, surgery, story, person etc..are different. What we share in common is that we are on the same road to becoming healthy and loosing weight. My experiences and opinions might be different from the next but it doesn't make me any better from the next. Its great to seek out advice from fellow wls patients on this site but what I think is the best advice comes from your health care team who are working with you on this journey. In my own opinion is take a break from this site, work on yourself and come back when you want to hear success stories and what not. Nobody is forcing you to believe in what all of us on the online community are saying, I personally like reading what others are experiencing and going through. I hope everything works out

    Slow weight loss?

The one thing to my success is that I am truthful with myself and super strict as well. I eat my portions that are recommended for the surgery. One thing with food wise I have cut out bread, rice, most salt, and going out to eat. I would love to say I cut out sweets but I would be lying, I am a food addict. I have worked so much to get rid of the sweets but from trial and error if I cut out sweets all together I just binge on them like its the last thing in the world. So, with that said I eat them in very strict moderation. I am also a yo yo exerciser, I can go a full week with walking and exercising then go three weeks without it. That's something to work on. There's real no super duper key to be successful (that's what I think) its how you classify what is successful in your book. I will know I am successful when I get down to my goal weight of 200, lol I am hard on myself always have been.

    What is your dream job?

So I have two dream jobs, one would be a photo journalist and travel the world taking pictures. My second dream job would be to open a restaurant and bakery with making my family recipes and also my own.

    Slow weight loss?

I don't think your doing anything wrong. Some people just loose slower than others, and its hard to stop comparing yourself to others. I do it all the time on this site. When I was revised I first started to loose weight slow then it sped up like at rapid rate and slowed right back down. This cycle continues for me, but everybody's story is different. That's awesome you are down 23 pounds! Rock on, you got this. Keep up the good work.

    Before and After Pics

I am 7 months post op. I started this journey at 397 and lost 35 before surgery which ended me at 362. I have lost 81 pounds since surgery and all together 115 pounds. Still have more to go. So far this journey has been a roller coaster but its been worth it!

    That's cheating!

So after reading this post, I decided to write a blog post about this subject. If your interested in reading it here is the link http://healthykayleesite.wordpress.com/.
  14. KayleeC14

    That's cheating!

I was confronted many times by old friends telling me that I cheated. I simply told them explain how this is cheating? They couldn't answer the question without getting upset at me for giving them a hard question to answer. I had one person tell me I am going to fail because once I am a fat person I will always be a fat person. I swear some people don't use their brains at all, and let ignorance take over. I brush it off of me and walk away. I have defended myself for years, and the best defense I have will always going to be walking away with a smile on my face. One makes them madder than hell, and two I don't have to hurt their precious feelings with what I have to say. We all rock for making this huge step in life and becoming healthier. I wouldn't let idiots bring you down.
  15. Yes I am 6 1/2 months post op and have lost over all 115 pounds. When I started the journey I was 397, on the day of surgery I was 362. So, since surgery its been 81 pounds gone. I have experienced plateaus, but that is common with loosing weight. I have also experienced some hair loss but I am fine with it cause I reversed it before it got out of hand. Overall I am happy with my decision and don't regret it.
  16. I had the lap band put in place five years ago and had issues with it. I regained all the weight I lost because I found foods that wouldn't make me sick. I puked up every meal and snack. Also developed acid reflux and ulcers within my stomach and esophagus as well. I was revised to a sleeve in November and love it! My reflux and ulcers are gone. I don't puke and feel ten times better than I ever did with the band. Everybody is different on how the surgery goes. Yes, there is a chance of the pouch of stretching but there are chances of the band slipping and the pouch that the band creates stretching as well. I have not experienced any cons with having the sleeve like I did with the band. I am bias with saying go with the sleeve, but the choice is all yours and your health care provider. Good luck with your choice, I am sure you will be successful no matter what.
  17. I am praying that this very moving scale will stop going up one day and down the next...I like it better when its on the downward side

I agree with not weighing that often. Remember, you have ALREADY lost a lot of weight!

Thank you guys, I am have a horrible addiction to stepping on the scale every day. I know its self defeating at times. I think I am going to do it at least once a week and see how I do with that.

when you are on maintenance, you may want to "step up" more often...but the day to day will drive you crazy.... even then once a week is more than enough!

  18. Where I go through for my revision they have everybody go to an educational class on the surgeries. They also have everybody do a psych exam regardless of your insurance. My insurance requirements were already met before going and trying to have a revision. Luckily because there was so many years between the two surgeries and different surgery it was billed as a new surgery rather than a revision with BCBS
  19. I believe in body acceptance rather than fat acceptance. I believe any one big or small deserves to be happy in the skin they are in. I had this surgery to become healthy not to get approval from society on how I look. This topic is interesting to me, because it took years for me to fully accept this is me heavy or not. I was bullied all through school, and partially into my adult life. I can't look at a stranger and think they should loose weight, that's not fair at all. What I actually do is look at food that I used to order or make and think "wow, I can't believe I made those choices. I believe fat acceptance to begin with just something to get people who are overweight and obese to love themselves no matter what. Which everybody needs to do regardless if you are obese. Bullying needs to stop, that so called "kids will be kids" I have deep emotional scars from those kids and adults making my life pure hell.I love myself before having this surgery, and in love with myself even more now because I am becoming healthy.

    Romantic Relationship-Secret Surgery-Bad Timing

I am an open book when it comes to relationships. I get the whole keeping it a secret but if you are into this guy and this guy is totally into you I don't think there should be anything to hide. When I broke the news to my man, he had his questions at first but was totally supporting. He was more worried that I was going to drop weight like crazy fast like the Flash speed. I do believe that this might be a huge mistake if you do not tell him and continue to be intimate with him. I kept my surgery a total secret until I had a set date for surgery. I only told select few before I blew it up on Facebook via blog post and also my overly opinionated grandmother on my dads side. Anyways if this guy is totally into you like you say he will see past the surgery and see that you are bettering yourself health wise and love you no matter what.

    STUPID PCP!

I would go and find a new PCP or better yet find another doctor that you see regularly like an OB and see if they can sign off for you. Not all PCP's are going to be on board with bariatric surgery because with some PCP's they haven't seen many of their own patients go through with this or had the education on it. There is a difference between knowing people and actually treating people who had this surgery. You want to have a PCP who has worked with patients and treated patients who had this surgery before. I was extremely lucky to have a PCP who has treated and worked with bariatric patients before. I wouldn't call your insurance right away with this until you spoke with your bariatric coordinator so you can figure it all out.

    Michigan Newbie

Oh I bet, that's cool you live in East Lansing. I work in East Lansing but not at MSU, my boyfriend works at MSU though. I have heard of the Beaumont Weight Control Center before, known many people who have went through there and heard wonderful news about them. I am from this area so it was easier for me just to go through Sparrow. It's neat to hear about the different health systems here in Michigan implementing weight centers for bariatric surgery.

    Michigan Newbie

Hi there! I am 24 and in college! I had surgery smack dab in the middle of the semester and only took a week off from work and school to heal. I let all my teachers know in advance that I was having this surgery sometime in the semester and finally told them the date and they were cool with it. I do not stay in dorms because I am in a community college, so I don't have the temptation of the cafeteria food around me just temptation at work because they don't always eat all that well. There are always the fear with any surgery that something might go wrong. Where in Michigan are you from? I am from Lansing and went through Sparrow Weight Management.

    PCOS!

I am currently going through the rounds of being diagnosed with PCOS. I have had irregular bleeding since surgery. I have bled from surgery 11/20/2013 for three months straight and now having periods every four days. My old OB will not diagnose me with it even though I am not producing follicles on my ovaries, and I have a cyst on my right ovary. I am mirroring the same symptoms that my sister is and she was missed diagnosed by the same OB. My weight loss has stalled, I am going up and down on the scale like crazy. One day I will be 290 and the other day I will be 287. So hopefully June 16th I will get answers. I just started a second birth control as well to help produce more estrogen.
