    Day 8...and really struggling

I'm on day 15 and just today got the ,ok to start eggs, pureed bean soups, cheese and other mushy foods, it sounds like you started to soon, diarrhea is a sign of your body rejecting it, at least that's what my doctor told me, and if you do have diarrhea after a food then wait 24hrs until you start another mushy food. I will say this, only 2 times I put something in my mouth and chewed it and spit it out. A French Fry and Chinese fried rice. It satisfied me and didn't hurt to do it. Just don't swallow it but you know that. It does get easier I promise, slow baby steps you are still in the early stages like me. I was sleeved on the 7th. Hang in there!!

First time back at a restaurant.

When I was on my 2 week Protein regimen before surgery I went into the 99 restaurant with my hubby (my favorite!). I just got done with my preop and realized it was noon time and thought oh crap I need my 1 cup veggies or lettuce. So He needed to eat and I needed my few bites so away we went. I ordered basically a bowl of lettuce took a few bites and that was that. But MAN the popcorn smelled Glorious! LOL Way to go with self control I say! Keep up the good work!!
  3. I had hiatal hernia repair with my sleeve and had tons of air, so every time I sipped I had this pain in my upper abdomen below the breast bone. This has subsided but I do notice with some of my Protein shakes that I have this lump feeling in my throat when I swallow. I guess this is why we will need to chew slowly and carefully? But as of today I have noticed wicked hiccups. what gives?

    Ooooo nooooo!

I hope you are better now. I was paranoid about getting sick, I work in the medical field with patients and have 2 boys ages 12 and 15 so they bring home tons of germs. Purell was my friend and my hands got so cracked from it lol Hope all goes well for you!
  6. I was sleeved on Jan 7th, I will be happy to eat EGGS! lol However, I too heard from various of people that they cant tolerate certain foods ie: Pizza and Chinese (my 2 favorite foods). I honestly went head first into this and don't plan on looking back. I just put it In my head that this is it. No more games. I am done with feeling crappy and not fitting into nice clothes. Can I do without the pizza and Chinese for that? Hell yes!! It wont be easy, I am 10 days post op and still doing fluids and protein shakes and let me tell ya, chicken/beef broth is my dinner and Jello never tasted so good. (those are my new Chinese and Pizza foods) for now

How long to worry about leaks?

This was one of my fears also, still is. I asked my surgeon before I went in for surgery how far out can you get a leak after? She said it could happen up to 6 weeks out. I would agree also that by 6 months you are safe, I study martial arts and want to be sure its safe to throw some kicks and do some sparring without worrying about the belly.

    Post Op-ers You're killing me!

I haven't posted pictures yet due to the fact that not everyone knows about this, Mostly I don't want my Ex husband looking me up online and finding this so I've altered a few things. I may post later on in my journey. I worry about loosing weight and looking older and sickly also, I think a lot of people fear this.

    Dry heaves? Vomiting?

I was sent to my room by Noon time, surgery time was 7:30, I had a hiatal hernia repair also and by 4/5:00 I was very queasy with Dry Heaves, I was given 4 different things to stop it, finally it did, It wasn't fun I will admit but it could have been worse, I just had some pain from where they repaired my hiatal hernia. I will give some advise though, I came on this site before my surgery and freaked myself out with some of the post op complications, Don't freak out, everyone has their own journey and even though there are some people on here who have had difficulty don't think that you will, you know how many people have this surgery that have had no problems (says my hubby all the time) and he was right, I am taking it day by day. Stay in tune with your body but take it step by step, I wish you luck on your surgery! I am 5 days Post op.
