Hi everyone! My name is Michellene and I had lap band surgery on June 18, 2013. My starting weight was 235.5 and as of this morning I am at 185.0. I hit the 50 lb weight loss! I got the surgery because I want to stay healthy and be a positive role model for my family. I do not have any medical issues that were a result from my obesity. Why wait for something to happen if I can prevent it now? We have 3 children a 17, 14 and 12 year old. I can honestly say I dont regret having the surgery. It was definately the best decision for me that I have ever made.

Prior to surgery I did just about every diet including hypnosis. I was so successful on hypnosis that I made a commercial for the center I went to. Once the sessions ran out, I gained back all the weight plus some. About a year later I decided to do the surgery. I lost all the weight I gained plus 5 lbs. I am sure I am not the only one who has been successful only to find all the weight they lost after a program. Thats why I chose the surgery, I need permenant. I am committed for life to work with the band for continued good health and weight loss. Glad to join and look forward to making new friends!
