g curtis replied to vinesqueen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh Vinesqueen, I'm sorry that you're feeling so down. You have been so helpful to me and so many others in the past, I wish I could make it all better for you . You know eventually you will start losing again, but I do understand how frustrating it is when you dont. I tend to weigh every 4 weeks and am due to weigh tomorrow and know that in a month I have not lost anything and did'nt lose a great deal last month, but I'll hang on there if you do I know you'll be ok. Please keep you're chin up Much love Gaynor -
Good luck Carrie, you wont look back Gaynor

I'm so jealous, I want to go to Vegas, how exciting. Maybe if I win the lottery between now and Labor day ( by the way when is Labor day ?) I'll surprise you all but its too far to fly from the UK just for the weekend. You never know maybe one day I'll get to meet you all. Gaynor

Yeah sure. Gaynor

Thanks Vinesqueen, I knew you'd be able to answer that for me. And yes I am aware what rubbers are in the States !!! Thanks again Gaynor

Vinesqueen how do you know if tablets are too big, it might sound a stupid question but until you take them and they either get stuck or go down how would you know ? I do realise that it may vary from person to person, but wondered if there was a general guide we could go by. Gaynor

Things You've Done Since Losing Weight
g curtis replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Havn't done it yet but for the first time in years I am really looking forward to my holiday ( I go in a month yippee) and not worrying about wearing a swimming costume on the beach or by the pool. That is such a wonderful feeling, also I have been able to buy lots of new clothes at very little cost, it is so much cheaper to buy smaller clothes than outsize. I am also able to walk for miles with my dogs now without stopping to catch my breath. Luxury !!!! Gaynor -
This is a little crazy, but do any of you....

I love it when the adverts come on for Weight Watchers as pre band I was a Weight Watchers or any other local slimming club addict, I really was dependant on them although none of them worked for me. Gaynor -

Wow Butch you have lost an incredible amount of weight, its people like you that keep me going. Ok so you've had a short tea break, but now its time to get back to work, you know you can do it you've already proved that. Please dont give up and keep us all posted to let us know how you go. Good luck Gaynor

Yeah definately, I weigh nearly everyday and like you if the scales look good I'm a lovely cuddly happy wifey and mother, but if they dont look favourable I turn into mummy Rottweiler. Why do we torture ourselves ? I would love to dump my scales but I think I'm scared if I dont check on myself my weight will run away with me. Old habbits really do die hard. Gaynor

Is there a REAL explanation for this?
g curtis replied to Kelliebelly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I dont know if it is just me, but with or without the band I have always been able to eat more in the evenings. Gaynor -
Delarla I will try and get that book as It could be quite an eye opener for me. Sorry you're struggling but keep on keeping on you've done so well. Thanks to everybody else for all the usefull tips. Gaynor

How do you all deal with the boring, frustrating, annoying, time wasting pesky little plateaus. Now I know I should'nt moan because I have now lost 56 pounds, I was banded on Jan 29th and lost most of that weight (39 pounds of it ) in the first 8 weeks. Since then it has been really hit and miss. I had my 2nd fill approx 6 weeks ago and I cant honestly say I am feeling hungry or overeating and I am doing plenty of exercise so what could I be doing wrong ?? Ta Gaynor
-
Kathy and Vinesqueen I know I can always count on you for good sound advice, i do appreciate it and it does help. And anyhow like you say other people are really starting to notice the results and I do feel so much better than I did 6 months ago. thanks again Gaynor
-
Thanks girls you've made me feel a lot better (again) I know its good sound advice and Vinequeen you asked how I felt well I feel great, I guess patience is a virtue. I'll let you know how I go. I was starting to worry as another bandster said I was eating far too much, that steak should be a thing of the past and I should not be able to tolerate bread, but I dont want to starve If I dont need to, and I dont want a fill unless I really need one. thanks Gaynor
