Sharon Osbourne was on telly over here in the UK and they asked her how she'd lost her weight and when she said "I had a band put around my tummy" that was the deciding factor for me as i had been thinking about it for a year or so . It was almost like a sign.!!!!! Gaynor:D

For me it was being able to cross my legs, also climbing a hill I used to sruggle with without stopping !!! gaynor

I recently had a small amount of fill taken out as my band was pretty tight, during this time I had terrible backache up quite high between the shoulder blades, however this seems to be ok now. Could this really have been caused by a tight band or frequent p'bing or both ? Until I had the defill I had not made the connection. Or could it just be coincidence. Gaynor

I have had my band for 17 months have lost about 100 pounds and have been really pleased with it. However over the last few weeks my band has tightened and although I am able to get plenty of fluids down I have to be very careful what I eat. My last fill was in January so I cant understand why it has tightened. Having read some of the posts on here I am now terrified that it has slipped. I am going for a small unfil tomorrow and am hoping that will sort things out. Has anybody else experienced this ? if so were you okay. thanks Gaynor

Hi All I had a little fill taken out yesterday and it seems to of done the trick, I still have restriction, but I can eat sensibly. Just hope I dont gain any weight now. Thanks for all the advice Gaynor

No its quite the opposite I'm at target now and dont want lose any more, thats what I dont understand. Gaynor

Hi there Yes as you lose weight your port will be more prominant, but it should'nt cause you any problems. gaynor

I have had pain between my shoulder blades for about a week, more on right side and last friday it was so bad that it was making me feel sick. It has eased off a bit but is still there. Having read another post I am concerned that it could be my Gall Bladder. I mentioned it to my Doc and she has given me Laxatives, she seemed unconcerned. Any advice would be much appreciated. I am just over a year post op and band is fairly tight at the moment but I dont think too tight. I am able to take fluids and eat solids. Gaynor

Thanks all for your words of wisdom, the pain has now gone, so I am hoping that whatever it was has sorted itself out. But I will keep an eye on things and see how i go. Thanks Again Gaynor

its kinda like a burning pain and sometimes I get a sharp pain when I inhale, although I have to say it feels a lot better today.

My last fill was the beginning of Jan 06 and I must admit I have had plenty of pbs although tey are less frequent these days. Do you think that could be the cause ??

I agree. Having had 3 fills and no restriction I went to another fill doc in London Harley St and It has really kicked in now. For the 1st couple of weeks I thought I was too tight, But now I realise this is how it should be and I am starting to lose weight again. gaynor

Do you think it is necessary to have xrays each time you have a fill. I live in the uk and have been reccommended a fill doc who is a lot cheaper (but very good apparently) but does not use xray. What do you guys think?

Hi Annette I had a fill in Harley st yesterday and can at last feel some restriction. this was without xray , performed by a very experienced consultant Mr Shaw Summers who was reccommended by several people on a website in the Uk WLSINFO.I have lost about 60 lbs so I am pleased with my band but was not impressed with my fill doctor. I had my op just under a year ago. If there is anything else I can help with please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck Gaynor

Carmen thanks so much for this post, I am only 10 months post op, and I too would not change a thing about my experience with the band so far. I love my band and to date have lost 67 pounds. Its so nice to read such a positive post. Well done Gaynor

Is the band less likely to slip after a certain amount of time or if we had a virous say 4years after cwe were banded could it still slip??

I'm really interested in the veggies being classed as liquids, I can eat a lot of salad ie lettuce tom's etc would salad be classed as liquids too ?

Orgasms, we're lucky in the Uk if we get one. And do you really get to have them every day ? You always have to go one better in the States.!!!!!!! Gaynor

I have the same problem, I have no cravings until the evening and then if I dont get it under control I am in and out of the kitchen. Tonight I'm going to try the Water thing and cleaning my teeth. thanks girls Gaynor
