MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! I have not posted in awhile, but read everyday! Things on this end ar much better! I am feeling better, and I am even down 18.5 pounds!! For me that is great...now I am just excited to start/finish my journey in 2008! Santa even brought me $200 from Kohls so that I could buy new clothes as the weight comes off. I was a 20/22W when I went in for surgery and last night I was able to put on an 18W (jeans) and an XL sweater. That was the best feeling!!! I hope to take monthly progress pictures as well, so I can "see" the difference. I am starting week 2 and would love to know what anyone ate, as I am full of liquids for awhile.... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!! This is going to be an awesome new year, and one that my resolution has already been set and that I am going to acheive this year!!! It is a reality and now I know in my heart that THIS IS IT!!! I have what I need to acheive and I WILL DO IT!!! That is so exciting!! Things are finally looking up and I am starting to feel much better. It was alot harder than I thought that it would be! But worth it...I am down 18.5 pounds already...which is awesome. My best friend came over yesterday and I quote "HOLY CRAP!!! Everythime I see you, you have lost more!! You are literally shrinking in front of my eyes!! That was one great gift I tell you! So what was everyone eating on week 2? Any good ideas?? EVERYONE have a fantastic day! I am off to play with more toys with my kids, namely a 4 ft. tall dollhouse!!

Hi Everyone~ I am here and made it through surgery just fine. Although recovery has been alot harder than I thought it would be. I am just trying to get better before Christmas and before the kids are out of school! Thanks for all the well wishes! Brandy

Well, I survived!! It has been alot more painful than I thought it would be. The gas in my shoulder has been unbearable, even with the walking. Nothing seems to be working, I have tried heat, cold, gas x and walking still in pain. Any advice??? Well I am still loopy so I am going to get off of this! Brandy

Well here I am in day 4 of this diet, it is getting easier but I am still dying for some carbs. It took everything in me to not eat the yummy baked potato soup that I made for my family last night...but I did it!!! I sent my hubby out for a naked burrito (he was grumbling all the way saying it was like I was pregnant again)...although he can't wait to see me as I was before, I must admit that neither can I!! I have a hospital story as well, I had to have 3 major knee surgeries in 05'. My last one ended up with my leg having to be broken and my knee cap in a different position. When leaving the surgery center, I refused to put on my shoes. I was in to much pain. It was in October and freezing. I was still hooked up to pain meds in my leg, so I was feeling fine. When we got home I was walking with my crutches and my bad leg was DRAGGING behind me, my big toe was all scratched up and nasty! I know know to always wear shoes and I have the scar to prove it! 4 more days to go!!! I am so excited for my surgery I could burst!! Happy Saturday everyone, if your here in Colorado stay warm! My doc was all for it, although she did try to convince me to lose the weight on my own. That was 18 months ago...now that she has seen me doing not so well, she is as anxious as me! Brandy

I am going totally crazy with this diet...I have also stopping the whole pop thing as well. So needless to say, I am a little hungry and headachey!!! But this too shall pass!!! I am going to try the spinach recipe tonight! It sounds yummy!!! I will let you know how it is! I have been eating lots of scrambled eggs, salmon, shrimp and cheese. Your right though, much better than a liquid diet...still I would kill for some carbs!!!

Hello~ Well there was a mix up, and my surgery is the 12th not the 13th, not that I am complaining!! I start my pre-op diet today and have stocked up on frozen veggies and lots of chicken and fish! ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON THIS?!?! I am a carb junkie and will be starving by tonight! I know myself and this is how it will be!! Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated! I guess that I should also post my life story... Let see, I am 32, married for 11 years to my hubby (who is VERY nervous about this) . We have 4 great kiddos, Brennan (14), Brock (10), Bryce (7) and Miss Hannah (4). Hannah is a little inspiration herself, she has had 27 surgeries to date with 4 more expected in the next year. She was born with a cleft lip and palate and 2 rare syndromes (one which is usually fatal in utero). She is very tiny and still has her feeding tube. We live in Brighton, CO so I feel like it was a total God thing, that I came across Dr. K! He is only 30 minutes from home! I never was heavy until after the kids. I have tried EVERYTHING! And lose a little, gain ALOT back! I had a catastrophic knee injury in 05' and now my only options are knee replacement and/or cartilage transplant. Neither of those are good enough for me. I am in a vicious cycle, have to work out to lose, can't work out because of my knee and so the story goes. So I am wanting to lose to help my knee, and to help me look hot! :heh: I guess that is about it....I am excited to be here again and happy that I am able to do this. I am very grateful for my hubby and that he finagaled everything so that I can do this! He rocks! Brandy

I am back!!! After a brief hiatus, and postponing surgery, I am back. My original surgery date was 11/1, but I found out about 3 weeks before that my mom has breast cancer. I am the only one in town, and the only one able to help. Also found out that my 4 year old, Hannah, will be having surgeries #28, 29, 30 & possibly 31!! So needless to say, I am a little frazzled. I scheduled surgery yesterday, for December 13th at 2:00! I am very excited, and am hoping that it goes ok with Christmas. I just need to keep telling myself that I can enjoy it much more, next year! Espically all the new clothes! I would still love to meet everyone, let me know when the next RR is, and I will make every effort to get there! Thanks and I am sooooo glad to be back! Brandy

I had a catastrophic knee injury in 2005 (doing a lunge, the irony huh?) My next option for my knee, is knee replacement or cartalage transplant. I am hoping that the band will help me, so I can get where I need to be. Workouts that worked the best for me were: ~Water anything ~biking ~elliptical (my knee would go out in the beginning, but as I got stronger, it got better) Good luck to you, I know how awful this is. It literally changes your life!
