Anita~ I was worried about you!!! Saying a little prayer for you too. I am glad to hear that you made it safe and sound. It sounds like you will need a nap today! Michelle, Dee and John~ I LOVED meeting all of you. Your just as sweet in person as you are on line. Nice to know that your "real", if you know what I mean! LA~ I was told at my post-op, 1 month, that it was ok to start working out. Although, a word to the wise, NO SITUPS for 6 weeks. I started at 4 and could totally feel my port wiggling around. It seriously grossed me out. At 7-8 weeks, it was fine. Brandy -

What do we do at RR, besides visit? I mean do we order a meal, drinks or what? I am trying to plan what to do for my kiddos for dinner and am wondering if I should eat before hand! Also, do I need to ask for a certain party that were sitting with, or do we just wait out front for everyone? Sorry for all the ???'s, but since I am new at this, I would hate to get stuck with the wrong party! HA Can't wait to meet everyone~ -

Hey Bahot~ I am hoping you can make it tonight! I would love to meet you! I did have my fill the same day as you...but I know my body. I am eating more than I should, I am hungry and I feel like I paid all this money, I am ready for it to start working! No worries about the body bugg, let me know if you like it...I have seen them on eBay, so maybe I will bid on one... Great job on the weight loss!! I am down 33.5 as of this morning, but I know that it is from working out, eating way less and just plain ole' dieting (counting calories, protein, and nothing but water). At this point, it has very little to do with restriction...I just need to be patient, I will get there. Brandy -

PB'ing: Productive Burp (more like puking) Sliming: When something feels stuck and you start getting lots of saliva (slime) to get it unstuck. Both are gross, I must say! I am doing great!! LOTS of gym time and finally this morning my scale moved. Down 33.5 pounds since 12/12! -
OOOPPPPSSSS!!! That wasn't supposed to post... I also did 20 on the bike, with the hills and 150 situps. I can feel that when I laugh!
-
Good for you Kev...that is the first step!! I made it yesterday...30 on elliptical with 50 as resistance 20 min.
-
I think that it could go either way for you...tighter or looser. It just depends on your body...although to me you sound to tight. A slight unfill, may do wonders!

Liteweight~ I know that he is busy...we all are!! I was never told to schedule in advance and that since I was local to just call and they would "squeeze me in somewhere". No worries, I now know and will probably schedule a few in a row just to be safe. This hasn't changed my opinion of him or his staff...I just want to get to proper restriction so that I can be a more consistent loser. -

NUEME: I felt pretty good and moved pretty quickly onto solids. I know that every doc is different, but if Dr. K says it is ok, I know that you will be fine. Take it slow, eat small bites and of course chew, chew, chew... Good luck and welcome to bandland, BANDITO! -
Are there any specific ab workouts that we should be doing? Or just our basic, not to mention, boring crunches? I have been doing 100-200 on a stability ball...

Dee~ I did, I think I will call later and ask if they have a cancelation, if they could call me. I can drive fast!!! HA! With all the stress of my sweet little 4 year old and her obnoxious big brothers, sometimes it is NICE to go to the gym. I am completely alone! HAHA!! All joking aside, I do have lots of stress with her (in fact, I am getting my CNA in March so that I get paid to take care of her 3 hours per day). Going back to school, will be a whole challenge in itself with 4 kiddos! -
Thanks at least I feel normal!! Crazy though, because I am a LONG way from having a skinny tummy! HA! Whos: Your a madman at the gym! I would love to be like you! Your commitment to the gym is very admirable! I am hoping to make it to the gym this afternoon!

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
MissMom24 replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hey Dee~ My knees are feeling better, although not where I want them. I was also told by ortho, that to avoid this, lose weight. I was in a total catch 22. To lose, I needed to work out, but I couldn't because of my knees. It was a vicious cycle. I am 32 and was told that they will only do 3 knees in a lifetime. Well, that is not good odds for me. I was imagining myself at 70 in a wheel chair, because I used up all my knees! Now, I know that I was fat (try having your 5 year old son, come up from behind you at Wal-Mart, on a Saturday no less, and start shaking your bootie and singing "I like big butts and I cannot lie...") and did try several diets in the past 3 years. Everything. But my main factor was my knee. I am down 31 pounds, and have been to the gym several times. I am able to do the bike, elliptical and treadmill. I am doing 40-60 minutes cardio and then 2-3 days a week with weights. I am hoping that will jump start my weight loss again. I seem to be at a stand still.
