Tubal ligation and gastric sleeve surgery
jkkoutso replied to mahickmore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I actually had one 2.5 yrs ago it is actually in your favor if you have one. Bc the surgeon doesn't have to worry about you getting pregnant to soon after the surgery and having a sick baby. And on that note I had my surgery five months ago so it was just two year's after my tubeligation. -
jkkoutso started following Readmitted yesterday :(, Tubal ligation and gastric sleeve surgery, I'm starving and and 3 others

I'm kinda shocked they didn't give you a script for an antacids. Bc your stomach needs as little acid as possible while healing. They had me crushing my medicine and putting it in a small teaspoon full of suger free pudding or popsicles. Everyones body is different I couldn't drink enough liquids or shakes and was pushed onto pureed foods 7 days out bc I lost way to much weight in a week. I would suggest calling your surgeons office the doctor and nutritionist will know what you should do.

Bad Nausea! I need Help
jkkoutso replied to teshadb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What are you sipping? Plain water can be very difficult to drink and actually induce vomiting in some people. Certain flavers can also gag you. I had to completely change which shakes I drank. And even which flavor poweradezero I drank. I also have to take zofran for a few weeks after. -

I'm sure some of the gain is still fluid and swelling. I haVe had gains that I quickly lost after. Your body goes into starvation mode where it stalls on dropping weight. It's a survival thing. Keep positive! And remember you ate weighed with clothes on. If your clothes are fitting bigger and you feel better that is all that matters. Your results will show in numbers before you know it.

any December sleevers start at a gym yet?
jkkoutso replied to jkkoutso's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved December 4, however I was not cleared by my doctors yet for the gym. I have gone and done the the treadmill and bike. But no machines yet. Im afraid to do any stomach crunches or ab machines. Has any one started those yet? I have lost about 50 lbs so my stomach needs to start to get toned. -

Oh I hear you on this one. I had a kidney stone show up 10 days after my surgery and was taken to the er bc of the pain and know one knew if it was surgery related until I had a ct done. I am still having a hard time drinking and eating. I just plug along as best as I can

I had one I had the full work up done a few months before they would even schedule my surgery. They did find and repair a small hernia during surgery. Not a big deal. I guess it all depends on who your surgeon is.

Who was able to start at a gym and work out? I had my surgery on December 4, 2013 and just started back at the gym I am only 5 weeks out of surgery but want to start working on my stomach and abs. Is it to early for this? Also I had just been able to increase the amount I ate but now cant even get a full cup of yogurt down without filling full again or some discomfort. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
