I can't stand the cpap I got mine in January and only used it about 4x. Anyway, I was told not to use the nasal pillows because the air goes directly into your nose and to your lungs. I prefer them but can't use them because every time I put it on I instantly get a headache. I ramp at 4 and end at 9 and it's too much for me. Try using some Vaseline on your nose to avoid the chaffing and make sure your mask isn't too tight. You should be able to fit your fingers under the straps. This is the advice the Dr gave me. I need to start using mine but I can't get used to it

Hi ~ I was wondering how many of you consider the after care support system very important? I am torn between two surgeons. Both perform the sleeve at Centers of Excellence but one has a 5 year program that includes unlimited NUT visits while the other doesn't offer an after care program. I like the surgeon that doesn't offer the program better but I think I'd benefit more from the program. Thoughts?

I'm scared too!! I'm so afraid of not waking up from the surgery or having complications that could kill me. I have three girls all under the age of 10 and one of the main reasons I'm doing this is to be healthy for them! I'm also afraid that I may never be able to enjoy food... I'm afraid to start the pre-op diet because it's going to be so hard. I see a lot of people that are getting healthy way before their surgery and I'm eating like I'm never going to eat again...,I feel guilty about that. ????

Hi! I'm starting over because I changed my mind the first time. Mostly because I didn't feel comfortable with the Dr. (Dr. Ahmad in Port Jefferson, NY). His reputation is impeccable but I don't like to fee like a number. I actually like to talk to the Dr before we head into the OR. I tried to diet (again) and it just doesn't work! So I got a referral from a friend that was sleeved in 11/13 (New York Bariatric Group, Dr. Angstadt). I am so happy with him. He spent over 40 minutes talking to my husband and I. I already have most of my clearances done so at my next appt on 3/17 I should have a date! Again, I'm starting to freak out! I'm 5'3 and 206lbs and I have moderate sleep apnea. I can't help thinking that I am opting for surgery that I really don't need. I lost 65lbs on my own but had a car accident in June that left me with 9 herniated discs. Since then I've gained 55lbs and can't find the motivation. I can't work out and I'm almost always in pain! Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks ????

Hi!! I also have my final appt on 3/17. All clearances have been completed so Monday everything will be submitted to insurance. I hope to get an April date!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that I will get insurance approval???????????? Good luck to all and thank you to those that offered great advice!!!

Hi Pupichupi! I am ok. Just nervous about the complications that could occur have me freaked out! I have a BMI of almost 37 and moderate sleep apnea... I lost so much weight int he past but it all comes back. I was in a car accident in June that left me with 9 herniated discs in my back so exercise has been non-existent and I've gained 50lbs! That's when I knew that I had to do something fast. I switched Drs and I'm so happy that I did. My current Dr (Dr Angstadt) New York Bariatric Group has been great. He sat with my husband & I for a 1/2 hr and explained everything to us. My previous Dr said about two words to me in three visits. Since almost all of my clearances are done, I will most likely get a date at my next appt on 3/17...then it's the wait to get approved. In the meantime, I have been reading non-stop. I'm a ball of nerves!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for listening!!!

Hi! So basically we all have the same fears before surgery. It seems like it has taken over my excitement! So what can you eat now that you're almost 8 weeks post op? How much weight have you lost so far and how are you feeling? Did you experience any complications and where did you have your surgery? Thanks, I appreciate your input!!!

I am doing the same exact thing!!! Just read a whole profile on Instagram about a girl that just died from a complication. I have three little girls and my biggest fear is not being here for them!! Congrats on your awesome weight loss!!!

Had my Endo today only to find out that I will not be approved by ins because my bmi was too low during my six month documentation. Dr office doesn't want to submit for fear of getting denied. Now I am looking at a possible May surgery date and that's only if I maintain the weight I am now for three months.... I am so sad
