As I think back on my life, I have been overweight since I was in middle school. I have battled with my weight for almost 30 years. I've had some success managing my weight with lots of exercise, but found that as soon as the amount of exercise dropped, the pounds came back. I have tried many other diets, but have only had limited success.

I started my search for my surgeon in August of 2013. I quickly learned that my insurance company would be of no help in this journey. In my favor, I was left some money after my brother's battle with cancer sadly ended. I decided to use his help to improve my health.

My first visit was to see Dr. Kim at Celebration Health. I was very impressed with his program, but the price for self pay was higher than I was able to come up with; so my search continued. My next visit was at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Their price was better, but they were not friends of the band. They tended to us the Sleeve or Bypass surgeries. I then had a few online seminars that I was not too impressed with. Finally, I went to Dr. Fusco's seminar. I was happy that his price, the distance from my home, and the services provided by his office were a great for my needs.

My Surgery is set for January 27th... More to follow.
