Hello, I am 7 days banded and starting to get a significant amount of "charlie horse" like spasms in the legs and feet. Has anyone experienced this and what can I do to relieve the spasm. They happen more at night .I know it has something to do with the weight lose and lots of peeing I'm doing. I'm drinking smart water with electrolytes and taking xtra Cal/magnesium and potassium.

Thank you for all your concern...I love this forum and know it will be a valuable tool for me. I did talk to my Drs. Office and they set up an appt. For ultarsound as a precaution. But I really feel its muscle spasms...its both legs and they come and go.I can walk them out or drink some Gator aide a it subsides. So any suggestions are welcomed. I must say I'm doing really well with the lapband. DAY 7.

I am on full liquids now and doing quite well.......not able to bath only shower. I have put a call into my doctor. This is the typical charlie horse type spasm. There just painful when they wake you out of sleep. I'll walk it out and sip some gator aide and that calms it down but I would like to find a way to prevent them from occurring.

Hello, this forum is all new to me but I hope there is someone that may give me advice. I am 2 days post lap band surgery. Day 1 went good . Then today (day 2 ) as I ate some thin cream of wheat and then swallowded a magnesium pill, the pill got stuck somewhere down maybe in the band area. This brought on great discomfort, muscle spasms and sharp pain. It continued all day . Anytime I swallow water, warm tea, jello. Etc I end up with the spasm and pain. Has anyone experienced this or know what I can do to relieve the pain?

Hello, I want to thank you for all the advice. This forum is a real blessing!I ha d a good nights sleep and felt good Not on any pain meds (day 3).but unfortunately when I gently sip a little water I get that spasm pain shortly after. It's in the middle of my chest. I will give the drs. Office a call today. Hope this doesn't keep up for too long...it discourages me from drinking...yet I know I need my fluids. Thanks again for taking the time to respond!
