HCG Atkins Weight Watchers (multiple times) The Zone Low Fat Hired a personal trainer Some expensive cleanse (basically gross shakes and vegetables) For a while, in college, I took anything that made my appetite go away...basically speed After what I did to myself to, unsuccessfully, lose weight....removing part if my stomach is the most sensible

    Not feeling full?

I had the surgery April 22 and really have yet to feel "full". I stop eating because I feel I should, not because I feel I have to. No hunger, but no real signs of full. I just started purée, not sure if this will change once I get soft food I'm eating 400-650 calories per day...which seems high. I wish I had the infamous sneeze, hiccup or burp that others seem to get
  3. It must depend on the surgeon. I asked before being wheeled into surgery about wearing a bra and he said it wouldn't be a problem....sure enough, all my incisions were below my bra line and above my waistband. I've had zero problems with clothing. It doesn't hurt to ask beforehand and hopefully your surgeon will accommodate you

    I stink!

So I get bad breath and stinky pits?? :/ Will definitely try the clinical strength...guess the money I save on food will go to deoderant
  5. I was sleeved April 22nd...a little over a week ago. So far I have had what I think is a text book recovery...no pain, no nausea, able to get Protein and Water in, back to work one week after surgery. Yesterday, my stomach started to hurt a little when I ate or drank (well, drank...I am on full liquids), Nothing serious...feels like a mild belly ache that went a way very quickly as the liquid passed through. This continues off and on today. I still feel fine, no fever, nothing else strange. I thought, since it was Friday, I might as well call my surgeon's office just to make sure this is normal...I was thinking my stomach nerves were "waking up" or healing after surgery. My surgeon's assistant called me back and after I explained the pain or discomfort she said that this wasn't really normal...that my sleeve really shouldn't be hurting wh) She then said that a leak shouldn't be showing itself this far out, but I shouldn't really have pain...and that's where I got freaked out. The PA said I shouldn't be concerned...let's keep an eye on it, stick with liquids, take small sips, if anything changes to call. My 2 week follow up appointment is on Thursday My biggest fear of having this surgery was a leak, it absolutely terrifies me....My surgeon has only had one leak and it presented before the patient left the hospital. Now every ache, pain, heartbeat scare me...I came home right from work and measured my waist (down one inch since April 27th)...I cannot stop worrying about this! I know this forum are wonderful, supportive patients not medical professionals, but I guess I need a little encouragment or possibly just to know that someone else out there is sleeve land has had rumbly stomach spasms a little over a week out of surgery. Or maybe I just need someone to just listen and understand my fear.

    Taking pills/vitamins?

I have swallowed pills since home from the hospital. I take: Chewable Centrum B12 Vitamin - Pill Prilosec - capsule Crestor - pill Blood Pressure - Pill (this one is a little big, but I have been able to get it down) I haven't had much problem other than occasionally I swallow the Water, but the pill stays in my mouth! Whoops! When that happens I have to wait a moment before trying again.

    Would love Support in Denver!

Congrats on your success! That's awesome! I have a friend who got the lap band and absolutley loves it as well. My surgery went really well...no complications, no nausea, I was back at work in a week. So far I have lost 24.5 lbs from my high weight and 13.5 since surgery. So excited to experience Summer in Colorado in a smaller size

    Trying not to freak out...

Thank Y'all! My saving grace is that I really have no other symptoms...just the belly ache pain when I drink. I was just shocked when the PA told me it wasn't normal...I swore she was just going to humor me. Will keep any eye on myself this weekend...hopefully it will get better or stay the same. I really appreciate hearing that others have experienced the same...makes me feel a little more normal Just going to sip my unjury chicken Soup and watch bad tv

    CO - Denver

quote name="Domika03" post="3459213" timestamp="1399070029"] If anyone is interested, I just created a private support group called Mission Slimpossible on FaceBook. I made it private because not every one has told their friends about their WLS, myself included. The purpose is simply to provide support to pre & post op WLS people, similar to this website, but on FB. Why not just use this website? You could. It's just that some of us are a little more obsessed with FB than we should be (I'm blushing), and access it a lot more than this site (I'm still blushing). No other reason than that really. It's not just for those of us in Denver, so please feel free to share it with others. I hope to also share recipes, something I seem to be a bit crazed about these days. Hope to see you there!!! I would love to participate! Do you have a link? You can find me on fb at https://www.facebook.com/CarreEW1081 if you need an invite. Thanks!
  11. Can you come to Denver for the psych?

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

It's where your doctor speaks with Cigna's doctor

    cream of chicken soup?

My surgeon considers it a full liquid...I blend it, strain it and add unflavored Protein powder and skim milk. Currently I am enjoying a blended, strained Black Bean Soup with added 0% Fat Fage and Protein Powder....I just can't do sweet all day! Of course, your surgeon and nutritionist are the last word!

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

After the Peer to Peer it was pretty quick. They did it with my Surgeon's assistant and I was approved the next day

Call Cigna! They will let you know where your claim stands. If I hadn't of called, I probably wouldn't have gotten my first reconsideration done in time.

    Any April Sleevers?

I'm not thirsty or hungry, but I do force myself to drink anyway. I actually avoid lip balm because my dry lips reminds me to drink. I am in altitude and a dry climate (Denver) so that also helps. I have also completely lucked out and was able to take much bigger sips these last couple of days... I wouldn't call it a gulp, but much better than dainty sips!

    Any April Sleevers?

I am 5 days play-off and the exhaustion just hit.... I think I've been on a post surgery p high for the past five days until now. Hoping this exhaustion is normal and will pass quickly. Best of luck to all April sleevers.
  19. Thanks so much for this!! Awesome job! We are the same height and start weight....I can only hope I have the same success!
  20. I had the same...I was squeamish about it until I realized how much it helped! No pain meds after the first 24 hours and only 1 pain pill prior to removing the catheters (which I didn't even need...it was just preemptive on the advice of my surgeon). I was also sleeved 4/22

    Day 4 Post OP

I am also four days out and get the pressure feeling in my chest...my doc said it was pretty common...they were doing a lot of work around the diaphragm and I think that was also where they pulled out the stomach remnant...so it will be sore with any kind of pressure. I try to swallow several times with each sip so it is a smooth flow of liquid rather than a larger volume. Congrats on your success!!
  22. Fat Doctor I watch it on Hulu...I have only seen one VSG, all the rest are RnY, but it's a great show...super informative. Plus, I'm a sucker for almost anything British (though you will have to keep a calculator handy to figure out how many pounds is 25 stone! [14 lbs = 1 stone])

    Side sleeper

I am also a side sleeper and, luckily, had no trouble sleeping on my side my 2nd night in the hospital and at home. My surgeon did give me the On-Q Pain relief system (basically numbing medication delievered directly to my surgical site for 72 hours)...I thought it was strange and was kind of creeped out that I had to pull the tubes out at home...but I truly believe it helped my recovery and comfort immensely...incisions never really hurt, no major muscle pain and I could sleep on my side!

    Any April Sleevers?

Day 3! It really does get better each day! Day of surgery was spent in a painkiller haze..the next day was a few bouts of nausea and three dry heaves (Awful!!). Day 2 I got to come home which is so much better than the hospital! I think I have been very lucky...no gas pain and no more nausea...my Surgeon sent me home with an "On Q pain management system" Basically to skinny catheters that were threaded through the surgical site that were attached a "ball" which delivered a constant stream of pain killers directly to my stomach area for 72 hours. I just pulled those out (that was interesting!) and took a pain pill....hopefully my last. My only problem so far has been getting fluids and Protein in...I feel like I am constantly sipping, yet I have only gotten halfway to goal
