45 pounds to my goal of being in 'Onederland' and I will get an idea of how much more I want to lose from there. I'm thinking between 180 and 190. I'm 5'10' and bigger boned. I want a goal weight that I can realistically maintain.

HW 375 SW 339 CW 250.8 0.2 loss this week, but a loss is in the right direction. I had a hard time meeting my calories this week so it reflected on the scale. Gotta get my calories up again. Anyone else having stretches of time when nothing tastes good and you feel as if you are force feeding yourself?

HW 375 SW 339. 12/19/13 CW 251 That's 3.6 lbs gone this week. 124 lbs gone from my highest known weight. 88 lbs gone since surgery. I'll say it again- BEST thing I ever did for myself!!! Congrats to everyone!

I I was going to take my boys for a haircut and I decided I would get a haircut myself since I am losing so much of it. I have worn my hair long the majority of my life so I had to mentally get ready to chop a lot of it off. So I have some pics of haircuts I like and I ask the stylist if any of them will work on me and she says yes absolutely. So I explain to her that I'm losing hair since I had 'surgery' without mentioning what kind or for what reason. She proceeds to tell me about her friend's Mom who had that 'tummy surgery' and how you look at her and you 'can see right through her hair to her scalp'. So as I'm sitting there horrified that I could end up in that same situation she continues to say how the woman has lost something like 120 pounds so overall 'she traded the weight loss for hair loss' and maybe if she had just really 'tried on her own by eating less and hitting the gym' she wouldn't be dealing with it. Then she switches gears to say my hair is still thicker than her own hair so she can't imagine what it was before it started thinning and therefore she's jealous of me. I was literally SPEECHLESS!!! First of all, I'm far from normal weight range yet even given how much I've lost so why she would openly discriminate against fat/overweight/obese people I don't have the first clue! Secondly, to then not miss a beat and use the expression that she's jealous? Boggles my mind that she would say that to a relative stranger. I haven't had a stylist for a long time because I've kept my hair low maintenance so long. This was a random stylist just on the fly. It's so disappointing to experience that kind of discrimination and small mindedness. A friend warned me about those kind of experiences since she had RNY but to experience it firsthand is something else I guess the silver lining is while I'm losing hair, it's not as bad as I perceive it and the cut looks good. I had to focus on that to not get visibly upset and lose my temper by debating the woman about the choice to have WLS.

I know what you mean. I appreciate compliments BUT I know I still have a long way to go so it feels patronizing when people say 'skinny Minnie'. I'm far from 'skinny'.

HW 375 SW 339 CW 261 A 7 lb loss this week but not sure how much was weight loss and how much was due to stomach bug I caught. 4 month surgiversary today and down 78 lbs from surgery.

My heaviest recorded weight was 375. My starting weight for surgery was 339 and I'm currently 268. My 4 month surgiversary is tomorrow so I'm interested to see where I'm at for the full 4 months out. I'm more of an apple shape because I'm thick waisted. My doc never discussed a goal weight with me so we will see if he comes up with one at my 6 month follow up. For me personally my first goal is 199 to be in Onederland but I'm thinking my goal will be around 185. It's hard to say because who knows what my body will look like by then so I'm staying open minded.

Hi All, My highest known weight was 375 but I was most likely even heavier than that. My surgery weight was 339. I am a week shy of being 4 months out from surgery on 12/19/13 and I'm down 71 lbs. i have been blessed because I am losing consistently and more quickly then I imagined I would. My goal is to get down to about 185 since I am 5'10" and I would say built bigger than average overall. I have no idea what I will look like or what size I will be at that weight so I may adjust my goal. I don't think it's an unrealistic goal? Do any of you who are further out from surgery think it's unrealistic?
