    anyone have bcbs of Minnesota?

It was really quick.. I think they came back with an approval within a few days after everything was submitted and they did cover pretty much everything. Good luck!

I had a lot of problems in the 3 months between surgeries, which is why they did the revision.. Totally worth it all in the end.. Happier, healthier and feeling great!

    hair replenishment

My Dr said the hair loss would slow down when my weight-loss slowed down.. I am 9 months out and it is just starting to grow back in.. I take Biotin and also use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner.. It seems to be helping... Good luck!

    Jealous and Frustrated :(

I was also frustrated with the long wait time, however, it wasn't til after I had the surgery did I understand the whole process.. I had a lot of problems with my initial sleeve surgery and ended up with the full bypass 3 months later. I would never have been physically or emotionally ready to deal with everything had I not had the 9 months to prepare with my Dr and dieticians.. Hang in there.. It is all worth it in the end.. I am 9 months out from my initial surgery and down 114lbs with 20 to go to my goal weight.. Even after everything I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

I just had a revision from sleeve to bypass 2 weeks ago.. But I had a leak that would not heal.. Was sick for almost 3 months.

    Gastric leak

I was sleeved 9/25/14. I ended up with a leak a couple weeks after for whatever reason.. It wasn't from over eating because I was barely eating. I was nautious all the time am d could only get down water. I had a Stent put in my stomach to protect the leak while it healed. Nausea continued and I still couldn't eat anything.. Ended up hospitalized for over a week... Last week I had to have the Stent removed and now am on a feeding tube not allowed to have anything in my stomach til healed.. It really is making it hard to be happy with my decision.. I know I will be eventually and I have lost over 50 lbs. But this is hard emotionally as well as physically.. Some days I don't think I can take any more..I have cried, yelled, thrown things and some days have just shut down. But I look forward to the days that I can chase my 4 year old daughter around w/ little effort, when just getting out of bed is not such a draining experience.. I have an excellent Dr w/ a great staff and my family has been wonderfully supportive.. I think this is the light at the end of the tunnel

    Thursday 9/25/10

My surgery is on Thursday.. I may not post on here often but I can't tell you how helpful it has been "creeping" on here. It has calmed many of my fears, taught me much, and given me hope. I am thankful. My surgery is the day after my daughter's 4th bday. I know that right now she doesn't understand but I hope one day she will see it as a wonderful gift I gave to her as well as myself:) I'm sure I will post more questions and things post op.. There is great advice and knowledge on here!!

    Newbie: Tired of feeling sick

I have a similar story as well.. I am also 32 years old and started down the road to this surgery after being diagnosed w/ PCOS.. We were trying to get pregnant again (my almost 4 year old daughter was conceived after taking fertility meds) and my doctor thought maybe we should take care of the issues and try to have a baby w/out the meds ... It wasn't something that I would have sought out myself, and maybe that's because I have been so ashamed of myself. But I am so glad my doctor talked to me about it. I finally have a surgery date 9/25-the day after my daughter's 4th bday. I am so excited for this challenge and a new chapter on my life.. Good luck to you!

    July 2014 Sleevers FB Group

I should find out tomorrow if I'm in July.. This doesn't show to everyone on Facebook? I'm not trying to be secretive.. Close family and friends know, but I don't want to advertise it..
  16. I have my final nut appt tomorrow.. From what my surgeon said once they submit to insurance it will take a max of ten days to get an answer.. Then they will schedule 2-3 weeks out.. I have been going through "the hoops" since January but it seems to have gone fast.. I'm just hoping that these last few weeks go smoothly!

    Hope

I don't really ever post on here, but have been on here reading everything for months. Next month is my last visit and then hopefully I will get a surgery date soon. It gives me hope to read all of your wonderful stories, even the ones that aren't so positive. Because in all the posts I have read, even the ones where they is some negativity, it is usually followed by: still the best decision I have ever made. And this has kept me going thru all of the appointments and all of the hoops you have to jump through to be approved. No matter what happens in the next months, I know it will be worth it. Thank you all for giving me hope.
