I'm 8 days out, and I drank a protein drink (8 ounces) in about a half hour 45 min today. I also drank maybe a quarter of a 32 ounce bottle of gaterade in a few minutes last night. It was like overnight that I can get a bit more liquids in faster. I can't guzzle, but I can definitely drink water/gaterade almost like I could before surgery. I've been freaking out about it the last 24 hours, but from all the frantic searching I've done, it's normal.

Same. My doc told me Monday at my post op appt I could stop wearing it if I want. I just chose not too, cause I like the support it gives me.

I didn't sleep at all the night before surgery!

I don't feel comfortable not wearing it. Scares me getting up and sitting down, and riding in the car. Eeek. I just wear it over my tank top now. (I wear a tank top everyday) and it's been fine. I don't know why I didn't think about it before my doc suggested it.

I don't have a problem sleeping, especially with the liquid lortab. I also have set up my bed on the couch. I have a sectional, so I've set up shop in the corner so I can prop myself up a little bit, and it's been great. I'm still too nervous to lay flat in bed. Mostly cause I'm a side sleeper and don't want to hurt myself.

I'm the same way. I can't ad protein powders to soups, or drink em. They tasted like chocolate milk before, but not now. Same with the carnation instant breakfast. I tried to to suck one down last night and I just couldn't. And the protidiets are ok, but same in the nor so delicious now category. I'm at like 33 g of protein today. Struggling getting more than that. Same with liquids. I'm maybe getting 40-50oz. I'm trying to eat more popsicles. Hah.

My doc said to wear the binder over a shirt or tank top.

I have a bad rash under my boobs and around the side where my bra sits. It itched bad in the hospital and has.not been itchy since I've been home and shower everyday. My doc said it's probably from the binder. Who knows. All I know is I can't wait for it to go away. Feels weird. Hah.

I get weird like, spasm type feeling sometimes after I drink or have a bite of yogurt/pudding. I don't know of its cause in full (cause I get them sometimes when I know I'm not hungry cause I haven't had anything in a long time) or because I'm hungry, or its just what happens. The feeling is like my stomach is spasming up towards my esophagus. But I also get it when it'll happen and half way through it it turns into a burp. So weird. I called my doc about my weird pains last night. Said it's probably normal, from my incisions healing and stuff. Told me to take pain meds if it hurts. I assumed it was normal, glad it is.

Girls!!! I lost 6.2 lbs since I went to the doc yesterday!! I wonder if going poop helped??

I finally gave in and took some milk of magnesia last night. It has "kinda" helped things along, but not very much. The stuff tasted horrible. Barf.

The hole my drain was in had 3 stitches in it. She left them when she pulled the drain. Then the nurse today took 2 of the 3 out of this same incision. This all has to be related, since it didn't hurt a bit until after i got home from this. At least that's what I'm hoping. I wish I wish wasn't midnight, otherwise I'd call my doctor tonight yet. He gives his patients his personal cell number. But I'm not about to bother him this late. Haha

I planned on it. just thinking it's cause there's only one stitch left, when there were 2.. Cause it really only started after I got home from that appointment. But it's annoying enough that I've been taking pain meds all night cause I almost can't handle the pain when I stand up. It does go away after a minute or 2 of standing, but still. Ugggg. Ha.

Need opinions. So had my post op appt with my doc today. They took out 2 of the 3 stitches where the drain was. Since I left the office, I'd say that when it comes to standing up after sitting, I get some level 8-10 pain going on and almost can't stand or walk for about a minute. Should I just assume this is normal after having a decent size hole in my abdomen, then getting 2 of the 3 stitches removed? Or should I call my docs office tomorrow? Cause I've had to take pain meds tonight, where yesterday I only took them at bedtime. The pain is like, almost like a muscle spasm/things gonna explode from the hole if I use too many muscles and stand up. I don't like it.

You have to keep it in until march 10?! I got mine out the day after I left the hospital. I'm so sorry. It was a million times better once it came out

You'll get these pain meds soon enough! And they are pretty good. I'm partial to the liquid ones, as they work on the pain faster and better. But I do wish for some BMs to happen. Hah. Appt for surgery is the 12th??

My leak test was super easy. Stuff barely tasted like anything, and it was only between half an ounce and an ounce I had to swallow. I wasn't scared of the taste, I was scared to drink the stuff. Lasted about 15 seconds and I was on my way back to my room.

I personally HOPE my sleeve is small enough that all I can eat is one egg and be full for awhile.

Jealous! I have 2 more weeks on full liquids. I'm bored of everything. I just want slme.kashed potatoes. And cottage cheese, which I used to think was gross but can't wait tot try. And chili. Holy crap I want chili. Hah.

Yup. My doc said rest, and emergen-c. And plenty of fluids.
