Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Sarahjane79 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That was me Friday. Holy gas. And I still feel a bit bloated, but much better I had 2 BM's today. Hahahah. Take some milk of mag, and dulcolax. Although I expected more poop to come from that concoction. Hahaha -
Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I think I just broke my first stall. Weighed myself for the first time in a week, and I'm down 3 lbs. Although I think it had more to do with the fact I have a good BM fir the first time in 6 days. And no white poop! -
Hair extensions
Sarahjane79 replied to Mommysonadiet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The problem with getting extensions while you're in the "hair fall out" phase is that most extensions are attached to other strands or small bundles of strands, and if those strands or tiny bundles fall out, so will the extensions you just paid a lot of money for. As a hairstylist, I'd suggest waiting until you're out of the "hair fall out" phase to spend any kind of money on extensions. -

Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Sarahjane79 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I should start prioritizing liquids for a minute. I'm lucky if I manage to drink 30 oz of water in a day. But I've been Eating lots of lunch meat roll ups (deli meat wrapped around half a cheese stick) and fish and eggsfor breakfast. So it's not been hard to get 50-60 grams of protein a day. But liquids... Not so easy. -

4 weeks out and you've drank? Eeek. Not to be judgemental, but you're stomach stomach is still healing. Just seems like such such a bad idea. -

Will do! I hadn't pooped in 5 days and did a little last night, and it was white. I took some milk of magnesia and will see what happens. I'll also be calling my docs office Monday. I googled it, and got everything from don't worry about it to OMG you're gonna die. Hahahaha. I'll report back with any answers I get. just hoping someone has had I have happen before and knows what's going on. -

Driving After Sleeve
Sarahjane79 replied to yolicious1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could have driven the day after I got home, as long as I wasn't on pain meds. I was taking them for over a week after I got home, so I didn't drive for 2 weeks. Plus my dad had my car. -

Any February 2014 Sleevers?
Sarahjane79 replied to honeyg317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wouldn't. From everything I've read you need you wait at least 3+ months, but at least until your stomach line is completely healed, and that's not until 7-8 weeks. -
help...I can't poop
Sarahjane79 replied to hazeleyes8361's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I HATE MOM. But, it works. I also tried dulcolax the other day and that worked too. And it's a pill, so no gross MOM. Barf. But the cherry MOM is less gross than the plain or mint. -
Eating and Drinking
Sarahjane79 replied to butterfly2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on the soft food stage, and my nut actually said that we are NOT to not drink 30 minutes before, during, or after. Mostly because right now, getting fluids in is so important and to not drink for an hour and a half each time you want to eat just isn't feasible, unless you stay up all night. This will change when I'm 2 months out and eating "normal" foods. But for now, if i want a sip of something while I eat, I take one. Or after, or before. -
Yum! Anyone try these yet? P3 protein pack.
Sarahjane79 replied to inittothinit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's little cubes of lunch meat and cheese, and some nuts. -

I had what I want to call a NSV, and one other awesome thing happen tonight. 1. I decided to try on a bra I've had in my closet (VS it was a favorite) for about 4 years. It was tight even when I bought it. Well, it's fits perfectly now! Woo! 40 lbs has been kind to me. 2. I can finally sleep in my bed. I had to put my clothes away, so I decided to try and lay in my bed. And I could, with no pain! I've slept on my couch for almost 4 weeks now. While I absolutely love my couch, I've been missing my bed the last couple nights. I can't wait to get in bed. Oh. And the amount of compliments away mound comments I've gotten the last couple days. It's been an even bigger morale booster, then me feeling like my clothes are bigger, or the fact I was able to buy a zip up hoodie from old navy for the first time in probably 3-4 years! Just even more proof I've made the best decision ever. -
I never really feel full.
Sarahjane79 replied to Gproll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you take an acid reducer? I know when i didn't take it the first few days after surgery i felt "hunger." And as far as never feeling full, me either. I lose interest in whatever I'm eating just before I feel full. I'm thankful for it, as feeling full seems to be worse than before surgery. I do find that I feel hungry every 3-3-4 hours. But a small snack or drinking something makes it go away. -
Sharp pain at wound site - 3 weeks post
Sarahjane79 replied to AmyV's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 weeks out tomorrow, and I'm still using the pain meds fairly often for pain in my bigger incision. I've asked my doc and the nurses there 3 times and my pcp, and they all tell me it's normal. I also pulled at my internal suture/ripped the healing muscles just over a week out when putting my boots on, so I think for me it's another reason I still hurt. Getting up hurts like a mf'er 99% of the time. -

Sarahjane79 replied to inittothinit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought some of these, but wasn't paying attention to the fact they have 13g of fat. I know it's probably the nuts, but since I can't eat those yet, I'm not really sure of how to calculate that. But it's a great idea! -
anyone know why we can't at least have a sip of water when we eat food. What is the worst that could happen?
Sarahjane79 replied to Iambeautiful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nut said that for now (soft food stage) we are able to drink any time we want, before, during, and after eating. She said there isn't enough time in the day, unless we were up all night, to not drink for an hour and a half because of eating. Especially since she suggested we eat something every 2-3 hours With that said, I rarely ever take more than 2-4 small sips with my meal. -

Shapeware Advise Needed
Sarahjane79 replied to JillC878's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought a tank top one from jc penneys. It's the kind that go just below your boobs, you wear your own bra. It's comfy, and just enough "hold". -
Pureed Food? Nooooooooo.....
Sarahjane79 replied to Aunt GG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The ricotta bake is absolutely delicious. I made it a couple days before I moved to soft foods. So good. I used the creamy tomato sauce instead of straight marinara. I'd say that both ways is good. But yeah. Soooo good. Like lasagna without the noodles. -

Let me know how you both like it. I told my bff about it the other day (she had surgery in December and was telling me she's always eating too fast) and she loves it! I'm just such a bad judge of fine that for a while, I definitely need the timer. Hah.
