[b]Hi, my name is Noreen. I had Lap-Band in August of 2013. So far, I have been successful. I have lost 50 lbs. from my first (highest weight ever) visit to Drs. I am in mid-life and did not want to continue to deal with the yo-yo dieting I had done my whole adult life. People may not have ever 'thought' I was 'obese' but there were many times in my life I knew I was way overweight. I was on the 'low spectrum', as told by my surgeon, of his patients. I am thankful he and my insurance company finally approved me. I knew this was a drastic move but I was desperate and just felt I had another weight loss in me but not another weight gain! I feel wonderful, right now, and I am looking forward to reaching my goal, a weight I haven't been in probably 25 years! I have kept my procedure private, other than family members and very close friends as I did not want to be judged because I had the surgery. All of us know, this is as hard, or harder sometimes, than 'regular' diet and exercise. The reason I joined the forum is occasionally I have an issue or two and would like to have a place to turn with people who know exactly what I am talking about, going through or feeling. The way I found BariatricPal was I was experiencing yet another 'stuck' piece of food and wanted to know what others did for it. Wouldn't you know, the suggestion I took worked like a charm and I was thrilled. By the way, it was vegetables that were not soft and I did not chew enough! I am looking forward to coming here when I need some support or advice and doing the same for others. :)[/b][b] [/b][b] [/b]
